Thank you to all of our Veterans! Grateful for your sacrifice - time away from friends and family, fighting the heat, fighting the cold, eating meals from a can, maybe not eating at all, not having a warm shower, not having a comfortable bed, not having cold water to drink… I can go on and on. All while volunteering for it all, while also sometimes fighting for your life, or the person next to you, and the freedom we enjoy every day. Thank you! 🙏

🧠Foam rolling = recovery
🧠 Foam rolling = better performance

But are you doing it correctly?! 🤔

⏰ Timing counts!

👉 Before activity or training
✅Target stiff muscles that need toned down in order to function properly
✅ Slow strokes to find “hot spots”, or areas that are sensitive, also known as trigger points
✅ focus on trigger point with sustained hold on the area followed by deep breath in through nose, and out through the mouth
✅ Emphasize allowing muscle to relax
✅ Repeat where needed
✅ Follow with dynamic stretch or warmup

👉 After activity or training session
✅ Good for general recovery
✅ Hit all areas used during training
✅ Follow with static stretching
✅ Assists with recovery

✨How you foam roll makes a difference!✨

🚫 Be focused and pay attention. Avoid talking with friends
🚫 Take enough time to be effective. If you do it deliberately, up to 15 minutes is usually enough

DO MAKE SURE YOUR TIMING IS CORRECT.
Foam rolling is effective at relaxing your muscles. So performing it immediately before your activity or workout without proper activation or warm up is NOT ideal.

🧐 Conclusion- foam rolling is a great TOOL for relaxing and deactivating stiff or overused muscles. But do make sure your timing and performance is correct and ideal so that your muscles are prepared to perform their best, OR recover their best #. Your body will appreciate it!
