In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. From his youth, Vincent was called to minister to the Body of Christ in numerous church positions; such as youth-elder, Sunday school and bible study teacher, alter & prayer minister, deacon walk, minister in training, and assistant pastor. He was ordained as a minister of Yeshuah The Messiah by the Elders of Universal Christian Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 4, 1996. He served the community as executive Director of the Chester A. Addison Community Center, which was located in the largest public housing project in Fairfield County, Connecticut. He also served his community as a mentor in the Urban League’s “Drugs Destroy Dreams” program, the Urban League’s “Young Males at Risk” program, and was the founder of an educational mentor program at Stamford High School in Stamford, Conn. Vincent and Leslie at their church at Union Baptist Church in Stamford, Ct. Perry, married them. Neviah Leslie Adams
Leslie began serving the Lord and her community 20 years ago and has served the body of Christ by her husband’s side for nearly 18 years now. She is a former world-class athlete in Track & Field. While attending Louisiana State University, she was a world-record holder in the Distance relay, a two-time NCAA and SEC Champion, an All-American in the High Jump, and an Olympic trials Quarter- finalist in the 400-meter hurdles in 1988. She served the Lord as a nurse minister at Union Baptist Church in Stamford, Conn., a certified health & aerobics instructor and nutrition counselor at the Yerwood Center also in Stamford, Track & Field coach at Staples High School in Westport, Conn., and a teacher and coach at Family Christian Academy in Baton Rouge, La., as well as being a devoted wife and mother. After Vincent and Leslie got married in 1993, they moved to Baton Rouge. There is where Vincent heard the Audible voice of Elohim saying "Preach in your own church". Vincent accepted The Call with fear and trembling. Shelekha (Apostle) Levite Kohenim Vincent P. Adams matriculated at Oral Roberts University Graduate School Of Theology and Missions in 1998. Vincent and Leslie officially became a member of the Messianic movement in 2006 during Succot (Feast of Tabernacles). Vincent recently discovered through DNA analysis that he is a falacia Jew by birth and a Levite directly descending from the line of Abraham, Moshe and Levi. He is co-founder of Etz Hayim/ Tree of Life Messianic Apostolic Church along with his wife Prophetess Leslie Adams in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they have 9 children, 7 boys and 2 girls. Their ministry specializes in Healing and Deliverance, Purpose, and the prophetic use and application of Biblical Astronomy/Astrology. STATEMENT OF FAITH- Tree of Life / Etz Hayim is an Apostolic Messianic church/ synagogue/community, of the Judeo-Christian faith. Although we are not offended to be called "Christians", we prefer the term HaMashiach Jews practicing HaMashiach Judaism. First and foremost, we believe that Yeshuah HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) is divine and is the second person of the Godhead / Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate, died, and buried. He descended into hell where He led captivity captive, and made a show of them openly. He, therefore, defeated sin, death, hell, satan, and the grave. On the third day, He rose from the grave alive, and was seen by men. He then ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, from whence He will come again in the Day of Judgment to judge both the living and the dead. According to scripture, He went into the Holy of Holies not made by hands and poured out His shed blood on the mercy seat once and for all to guarantee the eternal life and salvation of all mankind. We recognize the canonical books of the Bible of Catholicism, Orthodoxy, and Protestantism as authoritative. We also believe that the oral traditions of Rabbinical Judaism are also divinely inspired, i.e. the Mishnah of the Talmud and the Zohar. The canonical books of the Protestant Bible is used as our highest and ultimate authority on the Word of God. Any discrepancies from other canons of Christendom, oral traditions of Rabbinical Judaism, and Apocryphal books from any source are abrogated by the Protestant scriptures. In other words, the Protestant Bible has the final say on all matters of faith. We also believe in strict observance of the Sabbaths and Feast Days. Sabbath observance is from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. Rosh Chodesh observance is the first day of every biblical month. The Feast Days, or Appointed Times, are Pesach (Passover), Shavuot (Pentecost), Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), Sukkot ( Feast of Tabernacles), *Chanukah (Festival of Lights), and *Purim (Feast of Esther). The Hebrew Language and its 22 individual letters (The Aleph Beit) is Divine, and therefore, used extensively throughout our ministry and liturgy as much as our knowledge allows. The 613 Mitzvoth (Commandments), as delineated by Rambam (Maimonides) in the Torah, are also taught and adhered to whenever possible and appropriate. it is our belief that the Sacrament of Holy Communion is the actual body and blood of Yeshuah HaMashiach. The main focus and vision of our ministry here at Tree of Life/ Etz Hayim is healing and deliverance. Not only healing of the physical body, but that of the mind and emotions. Actually, "Shalom" of the individual is the ultimate state. This means "Wholeness" in Spirit, Mind and Body, including the individual's personal finances and material prosperity. These goals can only be achieved through the anointing of the Ruach HaChodesh (Holy Spirit), the Power Gifts, and the Five-Fold Ministry of the Brit Chadashah (New Testament), as delineated by the Shelekim (Apostles).

We explore the true meaning of conviction and how it differs from condemnation. We discuss why many people feel defensive or shut down when faced with conviction, examining how we often associate it with shame and rejection rather than recognizing it as an opportunity for growth and redemption. We dive into Scripture to understand that conviction isn't about being bad—it's about the potential to be better.

We explore the fourth Hebrew word, nacham, which means to be moved with sorrow, to repent, and to change direction. We discuss how nacham describes true conviction—not embarrassment or regret at being caught, but a genuine change of heart and direction. We examine biblical examples from Joel 2:13 and Job 4:2-6, showing how God Himself responds to repentance with nacham. We explain that true repentance today means not just apologizing, but actually changing behavior, resetting boundaries, welcoming accountability, and confronting patterns. Biblical conviction always aims at transformation, not just emotional release.

We explore the Greek word Elencho and its meaning of conviction in the New Testament. We discuss how Elencho—meaning to expose, bring to light, and refute in order to restore—continues the Hebrew concepts of Yecha, Tokecha, Ashem, and Naham. Through scriptures like John 16:8, Ephesians 5:13, and 2 Timothy 3:16, we examine how the Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment, not to condemn but to align us with truth and transform us into the image of Jesus Christ. We trace the full flow of conviction: God reasoning with the heart, truth spoken in love, responsibility acknowledged, and the heart turning and changing—all working together through the Holy Spirit's gentle revelation to bring lasting transformation and restoration.

We explore the Hebrew word ashem, which means to be guilty and acknowledge offense. Unlike external conviction, ashem represents an internal turning point where we take moral ownership of our actions. We discuss how this isn't self-hatred but rather moral clarity, examining biblical examples from Leviticus, Hosea, and Ezra that show how productive guilt leads to confession rather than despair or hiding.

We explore the Hebrew concept of Tokehah—God's reasoning verbalized with redemptive intent. We discuss how true correction preserves life and dignity rather than destroying it, examining biblical passages that show tokehah as illuminating light, not blinding rebuke. We talk about how loving truth-telling from trusted mentors and pastors awakens conscience and discernment, emphasizing that conviction is a gift of wisdom, not a weapon of shame.
