how often do you try to reason away anger, grief, shame, or fear?
we aren’t machines, but in a culture built to extract labor, we’re told challenging emotions are a waste of time and energy.
so often clients come into a session saying “I feel angry / anxious / discouraged, but I shouldn’t.” and to that I say, why not? why are we encouraged not to feel more challenging emotions? who benefits from your emotional repression? if we try to reason them away with our thoughts… do they really go away?
what you see as your weakness, I see as an ajar door to clarity, strength, and discernment. I see the potential to shape personal and collective growth. 🔥
