About last week…

Got to see our new airport on my way to Nashville for the yearly camp Minted trip. I started with as a designer in 2011 and never expected it to bring me what it did. It was my introduction to community. Thousands for artists (although way less at that time) all competing but also supporting each other through friendships and critiques.

This year I got to hug my friends that I haven’t seen for a year, others I haven’t seen for years and it felt so good. I got to meet friends that I had never met in person. I got to take art workshops and learn about workflows. I visited and was floored by inspiration. I walked along the bars in town and heard music flowing into the streets. I learned a line dance. I played bingo, and danced my heart out.

This is your reminder that community is so important for our souls. This is coming from an introvert that needed lots of recovery time from all the peopling. ☺️

I can’t remain silent. None of this is okay. So many others have posted so eloquently, and I’ll continue to share those in my stories, but I needed this to live here my grid to know I didn’t stay silent.💔

I’m posting these for my fellow graphic designers, my clients, and for myself. I have a few more annual report-type graphics I want to post about, but with the way my mind works, I needed to get this up before I move onto something else and forget.

Notes:

LSS is , my sticker and product biz. 2023 was my first year selling wholesale, and while the % of the category went down for wholesale in 2024, the actual income went up and we got into some new stores.

In 2023, I took on less weddings and events in hopes to increase my branding and corporate clients, and for a little bit of a mental health break. That was a tough year.

Every year, I hope to increase my royalties and commission income. This year, I’m not letting this goal slip past me. Hold me accountable!

This year I’m also hoping to keep better track of spending in each category to get an idea of how these Gross numbers compare to Net. Net for weddings + events is typically around 45%, whereas net income for royalties and commission is probably more like 90% since there isn’t any cost of goods expenses. Keeping track of my Etsy and Wholesale business expenses has been a little trickier.

I am hoping to post more specific numbers from the year for all categories.

2024? Looking back, I gotta say, even with some tough moments, it was a good day (x365).

I soaked up the sun with Christian and the girls in Turks & Caicos on a dream vacation, hit up Hershey and chased eclipses up north with my girls, and vibed with my designer fam at Camp Minted in Atlanta.
Made it to the Harris rally in Pittsburgh, and later we headed to Colorado for Thanksgiving to hug our West Coast fam! 🏔️

Concert season was a thing this year - watched my girls experience their first show (Olivia Rodrigo road trip! 🚗), caught JT doing his thing, and yes, we fell in love with Hamilton all over again 💫

Life threw some curveballs (saying goodbye to our sweet cat Nox, hello broken elbow 🤕 and job plot twists) but we’re ending on high notes - Christian’s killing it at his new PNC gig, and the girls are out here making me simultaneously proud and nervous with their driving permits! 🚗 They hit the big 16 in September.

After the toughest year ever in 2023 for both Loree Mayer Design and , 2024 showed up strong. Wholesale took off this year, which was a fun thing to see! (Business updates loading... if I actually follow through 😉)

Here’s to 2025 bringing all the good vibes, growth, and adventures!
