The Connection: Armstrong/Indiana County

Our Self-Advocacy group is kicking off the month with a Vision Board Party on October 9 at 5:00 PM at 120 S. Grant Avenue, Suite 1, Kittanning. Self-advocates and caregivers will come together to explore their vision for a good life using the Life Course principles and create their own vision boards to take home. This is a free event, and a light dinner will be provided. Please note that seating is very limited and nearly full, so RSVPs are required by emailing kseyler@anrinfo.org.

Next up is our Annual Meet & Greet on October 16 from 5:00–7:00 PM at the West Kittanning Fire Hall. Join us for an evening of connection and community as we welcome this year’s featured guests: Sheriff Pitzer, Deputy Brice, and K9 Officer Loki. Subway is on the menu – yum! This is a free event, but registration is required. Please RSVP or send any questions to mairgood@havinpa.org. We are especially thankful for support from our sponsors: ANR and Indiana Moose Lodge 174.

To wrap up the month, we’ll be celebrating spooky season with Team Friends a Costume Party and Dance on October 28 from 5:30–7:30 PM at the Kittanning Township Fire Hall. Costumes are encouraged, and it’s sure to be a night full of festive fun! Pizza and drinks will be provided, but bring a snack to share. The cost is $5 per person, and no RSVP is needed—just come ready to celebrate.

Everyone is invited to join us for free coffee and donuts during drop-in office hours with Kayla & Jamie! Stop by to chat, ask questions, or just connect. We’ll also be opening our doors to collect canned goods and shelf-stable food items for ICCAP (Indiana County Community Action Program, Inc), so feel free to bring a can of soup or something to share. Come for the treats, stay for the conversation, and help support our community!
