This is a great idea to work on reading!

Names are so powerful! This is the time of year that I really up the game for some of my new-to-reading artic students. We know they are more likely to have spelling and reading challenges so I provide extra sight word practice, but I also give them SUCCESS. These artic sentences have:
✅ their name which they can already read and gives them ownership of the task
✅ a target word with a pic prompt
✅ sight word “is”
✅ color coded color words
It’s something they are EAGER to share with a parent or teacher. And once you have a list, you can use your “find, replace” tool to quickly customize!

Parents: don’t just focus on what sounds your child can say. Think about how much people understand what they say to help guide if your child needs support.

This is important! If your child uses consistently uses the same combination of syllables to mean a specific thing, it's a word!
