Understanding Pennsylvania Waivers can feel overwhelming — but they play an important role in supporting individuals with disabilities.

Pennsylvania offers several Medicaid Waiver programs that help eligible individuals live, work, and maintain independence in their homes and communities rather than in institutional settings. Each Waiver has specific clinical and financial eligibility requirements. Even individuals who already receive Medicaid (Medical Assistance) must apply separately for a Waiver, and some programs may have waiting lists.
