In a lot of ways, this photo sums up our union. Young. Fun. Playful. Wild. Childlike wonder. Goofy. Silly. Focused. Supportive. Alive. Strong. Trust.
Steph is a former gymnast from childhood, a lover of yoga, and she's obsessed with biking and all things that require movement. I jokingly call her "Mary Poppins" because of her intense love for biking. One of the first and biggest gifts I ever bought her was a new bike.
We both have a love for fitness and being healthy. We met in a gym. My hard workouts helped her get through a tough time in her life. Helping her and others get fit and discover their greatness helped me get through a dark period as well. I learned that I like helping people.
Most would assume that I'm the main engine behind our "go-getting" energy, and that I love to live in the gym. I may design the workouts, but the truth is-- I don't love being in the gym at all.
That's why it was so important to have our own home gym. I'm not a gym rat, but I will do the work and push myself in extreme ways to get better.
I would give STEPH the credit of being the resilient motivator to make sure that I (we) stay on track and keep pushing this train ahead.
We don't look at our relationship as 50/50, instead we both give 100% of ourselves to it. However, if one of us has a deficit in any area, then the other person steps in to make up for that percentage lost. It's automatic.
"Teamwork makes the dream work" is what people normally say, but we like to say "teamwork makes the work a dream."
