In a lot of ways, this photo sums up our union. Young. Fun. Playful. Wild. Childlike wonder. Goofy. Silly. Focused. Supportive. Alive. Strong. Trust.

Steph is a former gymnast from childhood, a lover of yoga, and she's obsessed with biking and all things that require movement. I jokingly call her "Mary Poppins" because of her intense love for biking. One of the first and biggest gifts I ever bought her was a new bike.

We both have a love for fitness and being healthy. We met in a gym. My hard workouts helped her get through a tough time in her life. Helping her and others get fit and discover their greatness helped me get through a dark period as well. I learned that I like helping people.

Most would assume that I'm the main engine behind our "go-getting" energy, and that I love to live in the gym. I may design the workouts, but the truth is-- I don't love being in the gym at all.

That's why it was so important to have our own home gym. I'm not a gym rat, but I will do the work and push myself in extreme ways to get better.

I would give STEPH the credit of being the resilient motivator to make sure that I (we) stay on track and keep pushing this train ahead.

We don't look at our relationship as 50/50, instead we both give 100% of ourselves to it. However, if one of us has a deficit in any area, then the other person steps in to make up for that percentage lost. It's automatic.

"Teamwork makes the dream work" is what people normally say, but we like to say "teamwork makes the work a dream."

Hi friends!

Byron and Steph here.

Some people have asked about what we do to make our relationship stay healthy.

We gave it some thought.

What we discovered was that we both are capable of accomplishing great things on our own. But, the real life lesson is knowing that together we can achieve even greater heights as a team and partnership.

Here's the top 10 list of things we do to keep ourselves aligned:

1. Listen to each other, talk communicate

2. Support each other's goals and aspirations

3. No keeping score, comparison or competiton

4. Honesty at all times, even if it is uncomfortable.

5. Remain thoughtful always

6. Frequent dates
(and that can just be a coffee and conversation in the morning. Doesn't need to be expensive or fancy)

7. Health, wellness and fitness goals are aligned

8. Discuss money frequently

9. Weekly and quarterly goal meetings

10. Have fun in life. Lots of laughter

The list goes on, but these are some key ingredients to the success of our relationship.

What other items would you add to the list?

What works for you and your partner?

Byron and Steph

The other night at my NASH.V.ILL show, my bassist Josh made a comment about how he loved how Steph and I "work together as a team."

She manages our merch table at shows and I assist her when she has her Paradigm Expansions events.

I told Josh, "Thanks. I know that we can both succeed on our own, but us working together means we can reach even greater heights together."

I've been marinating on that concept.

In the past, I've been in relationships where I was present, but also had my own goals that I was laser focused on. I was supportive, but my drive was always rooted in my own accomplishments and agenda. I was in the relationship, but not thinking of "our future."

With Steph, I think the winning component is that we both have big aspirations, but our base is rooted in US working together and building our life.

It's a team effort, even with our goals being different. Her dreams are now my dreams to because I want to help her achieve them. There's the classic saying "Teamwork makes the dream work."

We reimagined it to say, "Teamwork makes the work a dream."

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of my friends and family from all over the country for reaching out with kind words and messages about the sudden passing of my best friend Michael Conaway

We've been brothers since I was fifteen and it's hard to imagine life without him. I'll keep his spirit alive in how I live and lead with kindness, creativity, curiosity and staying true to oneself. I'm pretty shattered, but also incredibly grateful to have had a deep friendship like this and to all of you for the support.

Thank you,

Sincerely,
Byron

Maybe we didn’t win America’s Favorite Couple contest, (we came in 2nd in the Semi-finals- not too shabby), but we absolutely WON in so many other ways—because it connected us to an amazing community. (Congrats to the couple who did win!)
After weeks of recovery, thought and conversation, we decided to create a new page: Byron and Steph

This isn’t just a page about our relationship. It’s about sharing what we’ve learned in life so far—through wellness, creativity, travel, trial and error, and love. We’re not counselors or experts, and we’re not trying to be perfect.

We’re two motivated people who found each other and share a deep love for life and have a common goal to help uplift others.

Our goal is simple: To inspire, encourage, and motivate people by sharing the things that help us stay strong, connected, and full of positive energy. It's really all about living a happy and fulfilled life.
If that resonates with you, we’d love for you to follow us
and on Instagram at and be part of this new chapter.

The competition and the overwhelming support from you ALL was the true driver behind the decision to start these pages.
Please follow, share and be on the lookout for invites and a lot of new lifestyle content from Byron and Steph

You can get content on our wellness pages: Paradigm Expansions and DUYA Wellness

We are excited for this new chapter and journey. Thank you for the love, support and inspiration!

Sincerely,

Byron and Steph
