Renew Therapy

Renew Therapy Renew Therapy offers virtual and in-person therapy to those struggling with a variety of issues; including anxiety, depression, life changes or stress.

We see kids, teens and adults! Eileen has experience working with clients of all ages, from young children through older adulthood. She connects well with those who struggle with anxiety, young women navigating relationships and transitioning to adulthood, new mothers and mothers of young children, and those looking for parenting support. Eileen also has experience working through, processing and understanding generational trauma, and how it may be affecting your current relationships. Eileen always takes a client centered approach, providing empathy, compassion, active listening and support. She believes each person is unique, and strives to use evidence based treatment approaches tailored to each client. Eileen's overall goal is to invite you into a warm and non-judgmental space. She works to build a strong relationship first and provide helpful feedback, teach coping skills, and use a little bit of humor while navigating whatever challenges you are facing.

Did you know that YOU can submit a claim to your insurance and possibly be paid back for some or all of your out of pocket costs?

Here are some things to consider:

*Call your insurance company and ask if they will reimburse you for a session with an "out-of-network" therapist!

*Each insurance company and plan is different, there is no guarantee of reimbursement, but it worth checking into!

*Login to your insurance company website, you can usually submit a claim right online. Or, you will find a form to do this via paper mail!

*You will need something called a Super Bill (your therapist knows what this is and can provide it)!

The world is heavy.

We are often told to have compassion for others, and it is equally important to have compassion for ourselves. Which is more difficult for you, and why?

When we look outside ourselves to comfort, help and care for others, we can decrease feelings of depression within ourselves. Focusing on others can give us a purpose and make us feel good while simultaneously helping someone else feel good.

I challenge you to practice compassion first towards yourself, and then seek ways in which you can practice compassion toward others. Both are equally important now and always.

Small acts of kindness can really create a domino effect in our world of hurting people. Leave a comment below with your favorite way to practice self compassion, or leave a story of a random act of kindness you have witnessed or experienced...

School is almost out for the Summer, and now is a great time to check-in with your kids and teens about how they are feeling, how the year went or what they need to feel supported going into the new school year!

Most people notice their moods improve when the weather improves, and that is wonderful! However, we often notice a shift in the Fall when things start getting busy again, kids go back to school and the weather cools off. It is a great idea to create a support system now, rather than wait for that time to come and therapist's are in their "busy season".

A new school year can bring about a lot of anxiety for some kids and teens (and us adults too). Therapy is not just for adults and we can do more than "talk therapy"! We offer services to kids and teenagers to help navigate anxiety, stress, school issues, peer conflict, relationships, parent/child conflict, changes in the family, behavioral & focus issues and much more! Therapy can be helpful for all ages; and we use a variety of techniques including techniques from Play Therapy in order to get on their level, and "play it out". Often times a child will not sit on a couch and "talk" about their feelings. But when offered art supplies, a sand tray, and a variety of other toys- you enter their world and it quickly all makes sense!

Take the time with your child or teen at the end of this school year to check-in! Take them out for ice-cream and really listen to what they have to say.

Here are a few questions you can start with:
* What do you think went well this year?
*What do you wish could have been different?
*What helped you feel the most supported at home?
*What do you need next school year to feel more supported?
*Can we do anything at home this Summer, or next year to help make things easier for you?
*Were you able to handle the workload and manage your time well?
*Who are your best friends?
*Did you struggle with anyone in particular at school?
