Did you know if you don't enroll in health insurance by March 15, 2014, you will be unable to do so until next year. Don't go without health insurance this year. The only way to purchase an individual health policy outside of the enrollment period is for a Qualifying Event such as loss of coverage, divorce, etc.

This "Fact" has not been very publicized. Please share with your friends and family.

Shopping for health insurance plans for 2014? Be sure to note the networks. Many carriers are offering a very narrow network. Don't get locked into a network with limited hospital systems. This is why you need a agent to help you. It doesn't cost you more to use a broker.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about obtaining health insurance. If you feel you qualify for a subsidy, then you will want to go through either healthcare.gov or through BCBS (as right now they are the only carrier that offer plans through the Exchange/Marketplace). Cigna will be on the Exchange but won't be able to thru their site until November.

You can also quote yourself through an agent link. There are several agents in our group and we have all posted links on FB. This will give you an estimate of your subsidy, but still you will not be able to get through to get an official tax credit until the healthcare.gov site slows down a bit.

If you do not qualify for a subsidy, you can use the link below for a BCBS plan to see plans and rates. Just use caution as there are many differences which is why we suggest using an agent. For other carrier quotes, contact a agent or else you will need to shop each carrier.

To qualify for a subsidy will depend on the number of individuals in your house hold and the amount of your Modified Adjusted Gross Income on your 2012 taxes:
(these are round for simplicity) 1 person - $45K, 2 - $62, 3 - $78, 4 - $94, 5 - $110, 6 - $126. If your MAGI is above that, you will not receive a subsidy.

Health Insurance Declines?....In our business we quote individual health insurance daily and it is sad that we have to deliver bad news and tell our prospects, "The insurance carrier declined you." These are people that are vibrant, working, working out, etc. yet the carriers won't issue a policy because of certain health risk.

No worries, people, starting October 1, you can enroll for a 1/1/14 effective date w/o fear of denial. We don't know what the rates will look like, but you at least have the opportunity to purchase health insurance. You can do your own quoting by scanning our QR code below too!
