While it may provide temporary, it is not a healthy long-term coping strategy. Suppressing emotions can lead to increased psychological distress, interpersonal difficulties, and physical health problems. It can also hinder emotional processing and delay healing from past traumas.

Give yourself permission to feel and express your emotions, even if they are uncomfortable or painful. Allow yourself to cry, journal, or talk to a trusted friend or therapist about your feelings.
