A trail run is unlike anything you've experienced. It's just you, the single track trail and the trees around you. Experience new trails and gorgeous scenery.

No hard asphalt, scorching sun or fast cars flying by. Come run with us on this legendary course for a great time. The Blockhouse Trail Run, named after the stream that goes through the property, is a race on the legendary Hirsch Farm in Platteville, WI... but it's much more than that. This event is competitive and challenging but also emphasizes the fun part of being a runner. Escape the day to day running grind from hard asphalt, scorching sun and fast cars flying by. The Blockhouse Trail Run is unlike any running event in the region. It takes place on single track trails through the woods. These trails are well set up as they have been mountain biking trails for 20 years. You'll get a taste of flowing trails, climbs and descents and fast double track sections. You would be hard-pressed to find a more diverse trail anywhere. The race is brought to you by the Platteville Human Powered Trails group. The focus of PHPT is to build and maintain excellent single track trails in and around Platteville for mountain biking, trail runners, dog walkers, snow shoeing, etc..

It's wet today but the trails should be penty dry by Saturday morning. The PHPT crew has been hard at work this week getting the trails in great running shape. We hope to see you Saturday!

Update: We're looking at the morning of Saturday, July 20th for the 2019 Blockhouse Trail Race. Putting together a multiple distance course and NEW THIS YEAR - a separate doggy heat where you can race/run along with your dog!

It sounds like there is a LOT of interest in bringing this event back. Update: stay tuned. We're working on the next event. Shooting for late July, early August.

Hello everyone. We do apologize for the late reply to the questions about the future of the race. We are sad to announce we are not having the race any longer at least for the short term. This is due to a variety of reasons but namely it has to do about our groups resources and focus. We are going to keep this page up for potential future opportunities. We truly hope everyone gets out there to shred some trail this summer!
