Nana.
I’ve patiently been waiting for this moment for more than these 31 years that Kurt and I have been married. Not in a ...this is what you're gonna get if you do this... type of way.
More of a ....Imma momma now. I just can't wait to see what these sweet Littles I gave birth to will become. And what their sweet Littles will be like.
That's what being a Mom is all about.
The day to day getting things done, the milestones like losing the first tooth, and riding a bike by themself.
And it's more than that...
It's when they find themselves and they like themselves. They become their own best bff.
It's when they've dropped to the very depths of hell and you're there to hold them as they shake, and they realize that they really are stronger than they think they are.
It's when they do what they say they are going to do.
And it means everything to them. And they finally realize why that means everything to you.
This whole Momma thing has never been lost on me. I've seen it as a partnership with their Heavenly Father. He's my Heavenly Father, too.
He strengthens me as I do His will and that gives me the ability to be there for these kids. And now this Grand Litt'l Man.
This child of mine, this Great One, now has a Litt'l Man of his own.
A hand that will reach for his, the forever Barney shows (is that dating me?), someone to drive the t(r)ucks over the bumpy road w, the toothless smiles, the endless ball games to watch, the many priesthood ordinations, choir concerts, the nights of worry, the answers to the questions...
This partnership is not for the faint of heart. And, let it be said...I am grateful for all these little humans that are mine. But I am REALLY looking forward to more of their Little Ones that will call me Nana.
Evan Daniel Brown was given a name and a blessing this weekend.
All of his Grandpa's were in attendance. The authority of the priesthood of God is on the earth today. I am grateful for this Little One, for his influence for good in our family, for the lives that he will touch and for those that support him in every good thing that he does.
