❄️ Stay Cozy and Safe, Uplands Village! ❄️
The snow has arrived, turning our campus into a beautiful winter wonderland! While the views are stunning, it takes a truly dedicated team to keep our community safe, warm, and running smoothly during a storm.

We want to share a massive thank you to our staff for their incredible heart and hard work this weekend and continuing into this week:

Our Maintenance Heroes: 🧤🚜 They’ve been out in the elements clearing snow and spreading salt on parking lots and driveways. Beyond the paths, they’ve been working behind the scenes to ensure that our residents are prepared, checking that pilot lights are lit and generators are primed and ready for any power needs.

Our Dedicated Direct Care Staff: 🏠❤️ To ensure our residents were perfectly cared for, many of our caregivers chose to stay right here on campus all weekend long, braving the storm away from their own families to be there for ours.

Going "above and beyond" is an understatement. Whether they are braving the wind to clear a drift or staying overnight to provide seamless care, these teams are the heart of Uplands Village.

Today, we are shining a bright light on someone who has been a pillar of the Uplands Village family for 11 years: our wonderful Home Health Manager, Jessica Holland! If you’ve spent any time on our campus, you’ve likely seen Jessica’s dedication in action. For over a decade, she has embraced The Eden Alternative principles while being drawn to Uplands by the "family feel" and the way neighbors help each other. 🏡❤️

Here is a little more about the heart behind the Home Health team:

Service with a Smile: A part of Jessica’s job that many might not know is that she personally delivers meals to residents who no longer drive or have access to a home-cooked meal. She truly goes the extra mile! 🍽️🚗

Sage Advice: Over the years, Jessica has collected pearls of wisdom from our residents. One of her favorites is - "Take the trip and do all the things now because you never know what your health may be in a few years." ✈️🌍

The Ultimate Superpower: If she could pick one superpower to help her in her daily role, it would be a photographic memory! 📸🧠

Over a century ago, Dr. May Wharton envisioned a place of true community and healing here in the Cumberland Plateau. Today, we are continuing that vision through awesome leadership, a happy and dedicated staff, and residents who are truly satisfied with the place they call home.

Waitlist? Don’t worry! Our top-tier therapy team is busier than ever, helping patients achieve their goals so they can return home safely. In fact, we are currently seeing the highest number of outpatient cases in our history! Whether you’re staying with us or visiting for therapy, we are honored to carry on Dr. May’s legacy of excellence.
