Dinner, Music, and... "Carols" by the Staff! 🎅🎤

We had a blast celebrating with our Independent Living residents at this year's Christmas Dinner!

The Highlights: 🎹 The Pro: We were treated to beautiful, professional-level piano music by one of our talented residents. 🍗 The Food: Culinary Services Group knocked it out of the park with a delicious holiday spread that included roasted lamb and vegan Wellington. 🎶 The Amateurs: The Uplands Village staff took the stage to sing carols. We might not be winning any Grammys, but we definitely get an A+ for effort!

It was a night full of laughter and joy. Merry Christmas, everyone!

🧝‍♂️ Look Who’s Helping Out at Elizabeth Fletcher House! 🎄

We had a very special visitor at Uplands Village today! Wharton the Elf stopped by the Elizabeth Fletcher House Assisted Living, and let’s just say he’s been keeping busy.

Wharton started his shift manning the front desk (he’s great at answering the phone, but a bit short for the chair!) before heading out to inspect the holiday decor. He personally checked every stocking to make sure they were hung with care! 🧦✨

After his "work" was done, it was time for some fun in the rec room. Wharton was spotted:

🃏 Joining a game of cards

🎱 Lining up a tricky shot at the billiards table

♟️ Challenging residents to a round of chess

🎤 He even took center stage at Adshead Hall to belt out a few of his favorite Christmas carols!

Is it a glitch in the system, or a marketing masterplan? For National Twins Day, we decided to lean into a long-running joke here at Uplands.

Ever since our IT Guru, Brandon LaDuke, joined the team, he and our Director of Marketing & Sales, Keith Mills, have been mistaken for one another more times than we can count (squint when you look at the picture, it helps)! To make things even more confusing (and festive), they’re rocking matching Christmas sweaters today.

Wharton the Elf visited the awesome therapy team at Uplands Village today to see how we help our neighbors get back on their feet! Whether he’s testing out our fitness center, getting in some pool time at the aquatic center, or checking in on our short-term rehab residents, he’s been keeping everyone on their toes (literally!).

We had a great time making festive memories! Residents and staff teamed up with the Activities Team to build and decorate some incredible gingerbread houses!

We are incredibly grateful to the amazing students of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Upper Cumberland Surgical Tech program!

These caring future healthcare professionals not only donated a beautiful Christmas tree but also spent time decorating it for the residents and staff at Elizabeth Fletcher House Assisted Living facility at Uplands Village. Not only did they take the time to make sure we have this great Christmas tree, the students also made gifts for EVERY. SINGLE. RESIDENT. on campus. That's over 200 goody bags! Melissa Oakes (Director of the Surgical Technology Program) and her team brought the Christmas cheer and decoration to us again this year!

Their thoughtful act has truly brightened the halls and created a festive atmosphere for us this season. Thank you, TCAT Surgical Tech students, for showing such wonderful dedication to service and community!
