Just finished my workout today and I was thinking….
I haven’t had an actual gym membership in over a decade! The last membership I had was to the yoga studio which lead me to instructing my first group class.
I converted my garage into a home gym in January 2015. I’ve trained many clients, family & friends in this space and most importantly it has served as the sanctuary where I strength train and maintain my health.
I say this to say…. you don’t have to bench press, hit the squat rack or use fancy machines to tone and strengthen your body. I certainly don’t, lol.
All you need is…
MOTIVATION for your personal health, the COMMITMENT to show up, and the CONSISTENCY to keep it.
I do a mix of strength & agility training, plyometrics, body weight, free weights, kettle bells, mobility & core work.
Stay active, keep your muscles working in different ways. Go on hikes, jog, jump rope, invest in a bike. Don’t make excuses or hold yourself back because you think you need a gym membership to start the work or maintain a fit body.
