Amy has turned her cardiac arrest survival into service, ensuring there are more survivors and less statistics.
Amy is alive because bystanders became responders and her community invested in cardiac arrest education and response.

Amy Vollman is alive today because someone was ready.
While out for a run in September 2023, Amy suffered sudden cardiac arrest and collapsed in a rosemary bush. A couple driving by called 911 and immediately began CPR. A PulsePoint Foundation responder was alerted to the situation and administered high-quality CPR at the scene. Minutes later, EMS arrived and used an AED to restore her heartbeat — giving Amy a second chance at life.
Today, Amy leads the SCAF Oregon chapter, turning her survival into purpose. She trains, teaches, and inspires others to be prepared to save a life, hosting community trainings and raising awareness about the power of CPR and AEDs.
Stories like Amy’s remind us why our mission matters — and why your support is critical.
This year-end, please consider donating to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation to help more people survive and more communities be ready.
