🚘 Clearing the Confusion: What California Seniors Need to Know About Driving Rule Changes

Lately, there’s been a wave of online articles suggesting “new U.S. driving license laws for seniors” starting November 2025.
Many of them have caused concern ~ especially among older adults and their families.

Here are the verified facts for California:
✅ As of October 1, 2024, the California DMV eliminated the written test requirement for most drivers aged 70 and older renewing their license, provided they have a clean driving record.
👁️ The in-person renewal and vision test requirements remain, but there are no new restrictions scheduled for 2025.
