Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District The purpose of the PRP Fire District is to prevent and suppress fires and other similar hazards and to protect the lives and property of the public.

The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is one of eighteen volunteer and combination departments that make up the Jefferson County Fire Service. This department covers 56 square miles and serves the citizens of Pleasure Ridge Park and Valley Station in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky. We serve the community from seven stations, a headquarters and a training facility. We are staffed by 83 volunteers and 40 career firefighters and other personnel who fill various support and administrative duties. The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is committed to protecting people, property and the environment. We will be responsive to the needs of those who visit, or live in our community, by providing rapid, professional, emergency services essential to the health, safety, and well being of the community. We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire suppression, first responder medical care, hazard mitigation, specialized rescue services, and other related activities. On Saturday, firefighters from PRP participated in the American Lung Association's 2019 Fight for Air Climb. Several fire and law enforcement agencies showed their support for the ALA by climbing 38 stories (many in full fire or police gear) at the PNC Tower in downtown Louisville. As of climb day, over $78,000 was raised. A special thanks to all participants and donators that made this a successful event.
