Mason County Prevention Coalition

Mason County Prevention Coalition Our Mission
We serve all children and their families. This meeting is open to the public.

We define “Family” as people who work together and take the responsibility for and care for one another by protecting, nurturing, supporting, and educating. The Mason County Anti-Drug Coalition is funded by a Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant of the WVDHHR Bureau of Behavioral Health. Prevention of drug use, including alcohol and drug use are centered around utilizing environmen

tal strategies, social marketing and educational programs to address underage drinking and prescription drug misuse and abuse. The coalition is made up of volunteers in the community that represent health, law, education, community leaders, faith based centers, youth, parents, mental health and public health. The Mason County Anti-Drug Coalition meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm at the Courthouse Annex Auditorium. Each meeting provides an educational component as well as planning for community events in the area of prevention.

This is scheduled for May 6. If anyone is interested scan the code or let me know. Thank you.

YOU MATTER, AND YOU ARE WONDERFUL. The world needs your sunshine right now. So what are you waiting for? You can make a difference in people's lives.

April is more than a month—it is a movement.

This month, we stand united for victims, survivors, and families whose voices must be heard, whose rights must be protected, and whose healing must be supported.

💙 National Sexual Assault Awareness Month
💙 National Child Abuse Prevention Month
💙 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (April 19–25, 2026)
👖 Denim Day (Wednesday, April 29, 2026)

Every story matters. Every voice deserves to be heard. Every life deserves dignity, justice, and healing.

This is our call to action:
Listen. Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities.

At Crime Survivors Resource Center, we are committed—every single day—to standing in the gap, walking alongside survivors, and ensuring no one feels alone.

Because awareness is not enough…
Action is where change begins.

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, teach kids that safe adults never ask them to keep secrets—especially about their bodies.
🚨 If someone tells a child to keep something hidden, they’re being tricky
—and it’s always okay to tell a trusted adult. Open conversations help keep kids safe.

90% of abused children are harmed by someone they know, love, or trust.

That’s why it’s so important we create a community where kids feel safe to speak up — and the CAC is ready to listen.

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, show your support by visiting our You Matter community partners who are stepping up this April to remind every child they matter. 💙
