For those of you who may or may not know Corey Nathan Smith I wanted to shed some light to a recent accident that Corey was involved in over the new years weekend of 2015. This page was created FOR PRAYER, so please fill this page with SCRIPTURE, DOCTERIN , or passages that signify the grace of god and the faith that we have that he can and WILL heal those who ask for his healing! With that said I will post daily scripture advocating the positive vibes that Corey's already put out in the Universe! Lets as Family, Friends, children of God who come to this page and come to know Corey better with this way to better serve him if you are unable to be there in the flesh. Before going into Corey's road to recovery this is the man you will grow to love more or if just reading this for the first time will have massive love for him. There was a time in your life when you get out of school early as its summertime in Chino California, the sun beating down on your face as you start your walk home from soccer practice. Excited for the up coming year as we moved from 8th grade to "fresh meat" was when I met Corey who at that time I didn't know we would become best friends in life. I remember that day very clear as Corey (if you know him) was super warm and inviting saying " Hey dre you should come to my house to go swim! Now mind you its 100 degrees outside beginning summer in Cali where a pool just got brought into the mix! Next we arrive at the condo (treetops) where I then meet a beautiful sweet women by the name of Sherry who at that time was in a huge knee brace from a soccer accident, his sister Candice also beautiful sweet women who had this tiny white car smaller than a mazda miatta lol (you remember) that later on became Corey, Chad Munn, myself and the rest of the crews get away vehicle! Fast farwarding through some of the years spent riding BMX bikes with danny & duke to messing around in the mean streets of Chino with Danny Chavez, Blake, Munn, Akers, Big Lou, The dairy boys, to massive Dairy partys, house parties, birthday parties to just plan old fun BBQs and family get togethers if you had any chance to be around some of this then you know how much of an impact Corey has on everyone who comes into his life and the impact that is left as a result of someone who in my eyes Truly is a gift from GOD! There is also a time in your life where you may move away to pursue a dream or a career and may not remember the things being the people, friendships, relationships that once where held so close to you as a child as life often is the excuse for it getting in the way... Despite all of this true friends will always keep in touch in one form or another. Most best friends will make a pact, or some sort of commitment to ensure the safety of the friendship but also in some ways secure the friendship prior to marriage, kids, careers. Corey & I made a pact years ago that would honor each other in aided each brother through the passage of marriage assisting each other as The Best Man for our weddings. For those of you reading this that where blessed to be at the wedding that day I wanted to say that I didn't uphold my end of the pact on the day that Corey needed me as his best man as I was to selfish at the time with my career as a Pro snowboarder to realize where I was really needed! For years after I missed the special day I didn't know how to call or talk as a good friend Jason R had said when i came home in-between tour to visit my mom said "Dre where were you? Everyone was asking about you? and I had to step in to be the best man"... Naturally my heart sank as not only did I let you down Cor, but everyone that is reading this that was there. I mentioned all of that because you see... Corey is not only my best friend but he is my brother from another mother! Corey is a person of true integrity, honor, spirit, love, strength, trust, wisdom, LIFE! He has never turned his back on me, has always been there for me, has always been a positive person in my life no matter what kind of nonsense we have gone through ( you know the 2 situations I'm talking about one at your in the attic haha then the other when my mom came home early when I had that ditch party haha.) I know you would have stayed but my mom told you to go home haha. So those of you who know this amazing Friend, Person, Son Of God then its You that has been blessed by what Corey Nathan Smith brings to this world! Despite what Im about to share with you, We need to all take a step back, a real step back to look at your relationships first and foremost. How important is it to you to build solid relationships? How important do to take meeting someone? or do you just go through life meeting people then forgetting them? Can we better our relationships better with people because of our love for Christ? This page is for Prayer so the first relationship to honor is that in Christ! Im not here to preach to anyone just here to spread the word which christ gave me the words to speak. I want YOU to know Corey that out of all my years knowing you the day that made most sense was the day you asked me if you could come to church with my mom, sister, wife, and rest of my family only to run into Deacon Salsiberry your dads neighbor, which then told me clear as day that the good lord brought us together the first summer to later in life be where we are at today! I have so much love, respect, spirit for you Cor its rediculous! I know that your heart along with your will is so increadibly strong that this minor set back won't stop you from doing you! I also know that PRAYER is the driving force in my life and I know that "You can do all things through Christ which strengthens you" thus says the lord!!! Brace your self
From Sherry Vasquez mother to Corey Nathan Smith. me- Hey Sherry how are you doing how is Cor doing? Sherry- Hi! A little warn down, but we are staying positive and have faith.. He is resting and has been in good spirits. We have a long road ahead of us. How is that sweet baby boy? how are you guys doing? me- I pray everyday, if there is anything I can do please let me know! Baby Boy is sleeping right now but he is doing good. I don't want to relive what happened to Core but I don't know what had happened. Its strange tho, I had no idea of an accident but the night post surgery I had a dream I was talking to Core and he told me in the dream (in the dream Im standing next to you Core both of us are looking down at you on the operating table o.0) he was going to have to get back surgery cause he was in a bad car accident? As I woke up from the dream I was taken back so as I'm literally reaching for the phone to call you Corey, Eva says babe..... in that tone no one wants to here..... And says from what she saw on FB that you where going into spinal surgery. this is where my heart sank as many of yours have
Sherry-He was in Ocatillo Wells last Wednesday riding his friends 450 bike and crashed. He was on a ride with our family friends. We didn't go. He crashed and the impact of his head burying in the sand fractured his neck and back. They had to airlift him to Desert Regional in Palm Springs. They had to put a rod and screws in the thorax #2 thru #9. He severed his spinal cord at #5 and he is paralyzed from the waist down. Once we leave here we will go to Casa Colina in Pomoma for rehab. I know we have a road ahead of us but as much as I can't be there in the flesh I am here in spirit sending Prayers to this page everyday! Scripture for you to see, read, acknowledge the power of gods grace and how he can Heal the sick and shut in! I know the power of prayer fully as we almost lost my mom a couple years back when she had her heart surgery and how the lord gave her a new heart and new shot at life! Just like my moms relationship with me I feel I had to be put through that with her to fully understand the VALUE of our relationship. I hold this situation to that same value in our friendship Corey I in my life since we have reconnected have been in a better place and I thank god everyday that he was kind enough to grace me, my family, my wife, and her family with such a great man, father, and person GOD wants us to be! Ofter times we get put into a situation in order to show others how to lead! in my eyes you have ALWAYS been a LEADER which has always made me look up to you as you have shown me how to live life!!
