As many of us move through the final glow of the holiday season, I’ve been reflecting on the strange, tender power of tradition.

On how gratitude and grief often sit side by side - because nothing we love is truly permanent, and yet nothing we cherish is ever really gone.

The holidays have a way of bringing that truth into sharp focus. They remind us of the people and furry (or scaly) friends who once filled these rooms, who helped shape our laughter, our rituals, our sense of belonging. And somehow, even in the ache of missing them, there is deep beauty in remembering how fully we were allowed to love and be loved.

In my family, every year we still bake sugar cookies using my Yia-Yia’s recipe - the kitchen is thick with the scents of sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla (and a little chaos when someone goes too hard on the icing). And for a moment, she is here again. So is Mamaw. So is my Uncle Donnie. So is Bandi, our family dog, and Frisky, our family cat.

Because love doesn’t vanish - it simply changes shape, and we start to call it grief.

That’s part of the magic of tradition.

It’s not about perfectly replicating the ritual -
it’s about the practice of remembering.
It’s seeing the ways that love outlives loss.
It’s trusting and knowing that nothing has to be permanent to be sacred.

So, wherever you are tonight -
with family, chosen family, alone with your grief, embracing joy, or tangled up in a mix of it all - may you feel held by what came before you, and empowered to carry it forward in a way that feels true to you.

It’s Monday.
It’s the holidays.
So we’re keeping it simple.

✨ Solar Magic Oil — a little on my wrists before I start the day. Not always to be productive or powerful, just to feel like myself!

🐯 Tiger’s Eye — steady, grounding, and gives the confidence to say "I don’t need to carry all of this.” It stays close when the to-do list is long and the energy is weird.

No big rituals.
No pressure to shine.
Just enough warmth to get through a Monday and keep going. ☀️

✨ The Wandering Witch is Moving, and We’re Asking for Community Support ✨

For almost five years, The Wandering Witch has been a home for spiritual seekers, magic-makers, beginner witches, families, healers, qu**rs, neurodivergent folks, grieving hearts, curious minds, and everyone in between.

When Skylar opened the shop in February 2021, she dreamed of creating a space where people could learn, rest, grow, be nourished, and be seen. A place where community was not an afterthought - but at the heart of everything.

Two years ago, I stepped into that dream with her, and together we’ve expanded The Wandering Witch into a thriving, heart-centered community home:

🕯️ Free Witchy Wednesdays
🍲 Pantry tables and free meals
🌀 Donation-based circles
🌙 Kids’ and family events
🌻 Seasonal festivals
🧿 Trauma-informed classes
🔥 Support groups, grief circles, sound baths
💛 A space where people remember that they matter

And now… we are stepping into our next chapter - a new home in Williamsburg!

After over a year of searching and considering options, we finally found a new space - one that is safer, larger, more accessible, and able to grow alongside the community we love so deeply.

This move is a choice - an intentional upgrade for our community.

But like all big transitions, it comes with real-world costs.

We are raising funds to help cover:
• A $3,080 lease-release fee (which keeps us from paying months of double rent)
• Moving costs, truck rentals, and deposits
• Necessary renovations (including removing a few walls!)
• Keeping the Poquoson location open until February
• December community events & mutual aid
• Support for the slow winter season
• The beginnings of a long-term Community Fund

This Community Fund will help us continue to do what we’ve always done at an even bigger scale:

Feed people.
Support people.
Hold space for people.
Offer classes and care without financial barriers.
Say “yes” to compassion and outreach, even when money is tight.

We have poured everything we have into this community.
And our community has shown up for us time and time again.

So today, we’re choosing courage.
We’re choosing to ask.
We’re choosing to let ourselves be supported.

If this space has ever given you something - a moment of rest, a new friend, a sense of belonging, comfort in a hard season, inspiration, magic, laughter, clarity, or healing - we would be deeply grateful for your support during this transition.

No amount is too small. Sharing is just as valuable as donating.

Good morning friends. We’re sad to share that we need to close the shop today due to illness. This wasn’t an easy decision, but the health and safety of our team and our community always comes first.

No small business wants to close, especially this time of year, and we greatly appreciate your patience and continued support as we take the day to rest and recover.

As we move through the closing days of the year, we’re standing at a threshold - and we wanted to share what’s ahead.

🕯 Holiday Closure
We’ll be closed for our holiday break from 12/22/25–1/6/26, reopening after Yule on January 7, 2026.

🗝 A New Chapter Begins
We receive the keys to our Williamsburg space on January 1, with renovations and move-in beginning while the shop is closed.
We’ll be fully moved and open in Williamsburg on February 1, 2026 ✨

Good morning!

We are looking to hire for help in the month of January and permanently 12pm-5pm Thursdays!

These are the specific dates, please only message or comment if you are available these dates.

Training would begin :
Saturday 1/10/2026 in Poquoson 12pm-6pm
Wednesday 1/14/2026 in Poquoson 12pm-6pm

You would begin your Thursday shifts 12pm-5pm on 1/22/2025 and this will be your permanent shift going forward!

You would fill in 12pm-4:30pm on Friday 1/23/2025 and 1/30/2025.

This position would only train in Poquoson for 2 days, this position is permanently IN OUR WILLIAMSBURG space.

We are always available when you are on shift via phone call and text and we have a full training manual available as well when you begin your shifts.
