Ever feel like you're constantly "on" but also totally checked out? It's a real thing, and a big part of it comes from the combo of everyday stress and way too much screen time. Our phones, while awesome, bombard our brains with info, keeping us in a state of constant alert, which can push our nervous system into overdrive. Over time, this chronic stress and overstimulation can make us feel detached, foggy, and just generally out of sync with ourselves and the world around us.
Think of it like your body's alarm system always blaring – it's exhausting! When your nervous system is stuck in that high alert, "fight or flight" mode, it's hard to feel present, calm, or truly connected. That feeling of detachment isn't a flaw, it's a signal that your system needs a break and a reset.
The good news is you can totally help your nervous system find its way back to calm! Simple things like taking a few deep, slow breaths, spending even just 5 minutes outside without your phone, listening to calming music, or doing something creative can make a huge difference. These small acts help shift your body out of stress mode and into a more relaxed state, allowing you to feel more grounded, present, and connected again. Give yourself permission to unplug and breathe!
With that being said, I will be unplugging for the next few days. My nervous system is feeling overwhelmed and I just need a reset. My books are closed for this Wednesday, but are open for Sunday. đź’ś
