Savasana our final meditation✨

I hold so much gratitude for my students
Watching them progress week by week. When they weren’t able to take a pose previously and then suddenly they nail it with ease. Leaving them so excited and confident.
Or they come in flustered because they had a rough morning.

Then by the end of their practice seeing how they are able to settle in, rest in solitude, appreciate all their efforts. Watching all their beautiful faces light up and the smirks as they lay there.

Watching them float out of the studio and into their day peacefully as all the fluster disappears.

It’s said “a healer is not someone you go to for healing, but someone who triggers your own ability to heal yourself.”

Reminding me why I do what I do, feeling fulfilled in my dharma. Reminding me to stay present, appreciate the ones who come and stay, the ones who pass, and the ones who I have yet to meet. Reminding me to stay grateful for this journey, this life and all the opportunities. 🙏🏻

Transformation...

This quote by William C. Hannan states it perfectly

“I know this transformation is painful but you are not falling apart, your just falling into something different, with a new capacity to be beautiful.”

Sometimes we hold the belief if we push and force things into action, they will get done faster, better, we will get to where we want to be and have the things we’ve always wanted quicker.
Getting ourselves caught in the never ending daily duties and activities leaving an unfulfilled and exhausted spirit.
Holding the question of how to get out of this never ending monstrous cycle of discontent, as the goals seem further and further out of reach.✨

On the other hand going through this process was the best thing to happen to me.
By falling out of my daily routine, coming down with a cold followed by mental/emotional blockage, the disconnect to my inner world seemed so far away as the darkness crept in.
In the midst of the process it feels messy, deranged, a falling away of the versions that are no longer welcome as passengers.
Forcing a slower pace, a pause, taming the beast inside.
Viewing the process through a different lens.
To take a completely new approach than you ever have before can seem scary.

By looking at your world with a growth mindset and remembering these few things, taking steps (no matter how small) can relieve the unease that comes with the new and different territory.

Regeneration and renewal are just as important in the achieving process as progression.
Pause during periods of instability to view the present in its entire truth.
The pain of the mundane has to become greater than the pain of change for growth to happen.
The openness, love, and opportunities that present themselves through change are worth the transitional suffering.
You are worthy of creating the most joy filled life and nothing less.
It’s only evolution, everything is ok and will be ok.
Hold gratitude towards the process and the struggle with vanish.
Choose growth.
Surrender to the process.🙏🏻

The 2nd sutra states the purpose of yoga. “Yoga Chitta vritti nirodhah”, “Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind.” Not to stop the thoughts completely but to become the master of quieting the thoughts so that the soul can be heard more clearly. 🧘🏻‍♀️🕉

Tapas translates to self discipline. It is the third niyama of the eight limbs of yoga. The niyamas are our personal practices. Tapas can be viewed as fiery discipline we use in our commitments which is necessary to burn off the impurities that keeping us from being in the true state of yoga (unity). It is the daily consistency of perseverance, persistent and patience toward our goals.

What do some of your daily practices look like?
Maybe you are working toward building a career.🛠
Maybe you are mending a relationship.💑

Maybe every morning you sit for meditation🧘🏻‍♀️
Or your incorporating a new self care routine.🍎

Whatever it may be,
Here are a few reminders for when things don’t feel like they’re progressing..
Sometimes taking a step backward can be the way forward.✨
Perfection is unattainable.✨
Choose love and understanding.❤️
Look at the big picture. 🌄

Ask yourself..
What can be learned from my past attempts and use the experiences to advance forward.

Congratulate yourself for how far you’ve come already. 👏🏻

Keep at it!
You are doing great!💪🏼

And remember,
When the climb seems to high and things get tough that’s when the miracles happen. 🧗🏻‍♀️
