Yesterday, Silverstray assisted Gary Animal Control in finding rescue placement for a severely matted and neglected dog. This poor dog was discovered in someone's yard, wrapped in a tangled mess of fur, and it was unclear whether the dog was even alive or just deeply asleep. Thankfully, it was just a deep slumber.
2x2 Rescue, a remarkable local foster-based organization, is dedicated to helping the often overlooked animals and wasted no time in committing to this boy!!!!! We encourage you to follow their page to stay updated on the incredible life-saving work they do, including the rescue of this poodle.
Let's also take a moment to appreciate the dedication of animal control officers who work tirelessly with limited resources to ensure the well-being of animals in our community. Spreading unverified information can inadvertently harm the efforts of organizations like Gary Animal Control. When the community makes assumptions without factual information, it can create a divide between the community and the animal control agency.
If you're considering giving back this holiday season, please think about donating blankets to Gary Animal Control, as they are currently in great need. Your support can provide warmth and comfort to animals in their care. Engaging with officers and participating in transparent conversations can provide a better understanding of their challenges and successes.
