I’m actively searching for placement of new honeybee hives this year. Most of my hives are in Kalamazoo county, with a few in Van Buren county. I lost a few hives this year but have been running 20-30 hives. I am seeking spaces open to me accessing them all year, with permanent placement. The arrangement would be a space for two hives in exchange for honey with no money exchanged

🎨 My name is Haley Terpstra and I own Herbal Meadows Botanicals. I believe that Ai has a huge negative impact on humans including but not limited to reducing creativity, originality, lacking accountability, causing job displacement, reducing incomes, flattening originality, data farming, devaluing human touch, lacking community engagement, provoking anxiety for human artists and much worse! Ai is only as good as the data provided to it and when you provide your face, they own that image. Ai is known for having historically biased databases that lead to stereotyping and perpetuate false narratives. Not to mention that data centers are commonly built in poor and marginalized communities.

💦 ChatGPT uses 2.2 cups of water per 100 words written! ALL Ai systems use water! Raising OUR electricity and water bills while running the entire world out of water! Ai systems increase PFAS (a forever chemical) into our water sources!

📸Not only do I focus my business on ethical and sustainable practices, I RESIST when possible. I was lucky to score a free headshot taken by Brian Bankston; digital marketing specialist at our local library. This photo surly isn’t Ai free but it’s close, processed and edited with a human behind the screen. One who enjoys his work and engagement with community members.

📚 Libraries historically RESIST political pressures by organizing, defending and promoting access to challenged materials and information. They build alliances with local community advocates, provide training and education, sparking creativity and community and beyond. Utilizing your local library IS resistance. While there is no way to avoid Ai, I don’t want it here. While we can’t eliminate Ai, we need to do better; collectively, to limit the uses and fight for an ethical, highly regulated artificial intelligence.
