Each week, our clients have the opportunity to volunteer in the community alongside their DSP’s. From helping at the food pantry to volunteering at the local library, these one-on-one experiences create meaningful connections and a strong sense of purpose.

These moments may look simple, but they are powerful. They build confidence and independence.

We are so proud of these clients for consistently showing up, giving back, and being such an important part of our community 🌟

Today we celebrate the incredible individuals in our community with Down syndrome who bring so much happiness, kindness, and light into the world.

At NW Friends Inclusion, we are reminded every day that inclusion isn’t just important, it’s powerful. It’s about friendships, opportunities, laughter, and creating spaces where everyone belongs exactly as they are.

Today (and every day), we celebrate abilities, advocate for inclusion, and honor the unique strengths that make each person who they are.

Exploring the deep 🌊🐙

A couple months ago we had the chance to check out Monsters of the Abyss: Aquatic Predators Past + Present at OMSI—and it did not disappoint! From ancient sea creatures to modern-day ocean predators, it was such a fun and fascinating experience for our group.

We love getting to visit each new featured exhibit they bring in—there’s always something exciting to learn, see, and experience together. These outings are such a great way to spark curiosity.

Bullseye! 🎯🪓

Our NW Friends Inclusion crew had an absolute blast trying axe throwing together! For many it was their first time, and everyone jumped right in—cheering each other on, celebrating every throw, and of course celebrating those bullseyes.

Activities like this are about so much more than just learning a new skill. They’re about building confidence, supporting one another, and creating unforgettable memories together.

We love seeing our group step outside their comfort zones and try something new!
