From on-site solar energy to rainwater purification and EV charging, the ROSE Port is designed to keep our community safe, sustainable, and connected. Built in partnership with Green Hammer, the ROSE Port is the first of many resiliency hubs outlined in our 25-year Resiliency & Sustainability Action Plan.

Last week, a group of RoseVilla Team Members visited Sherbrooke Community Centre, a community that lives and breathes The Eden Alternative philosophy. From roaming cats to intergenerational classrooms, Sherbrooke offered a powerful example of what’s possible when care, community, and purpose shape everyday life. Be Well, Have Fun, Experience Joy, and Play. This core value is at the heart of everything we do, and our Team Member Olympics is an example of it in action!

For one week, Team Members across departments join together not just to compete, but to connect. From relay races and water balloon tosses to splash-worthy cannonball contests, these games remind us that wellness is more than physical health. It’s about building strong bonds, celebrating each other’s strengths, and finding joy in the everyday moments we share.

We know that when our team is well, energized, and supported, they bring that same spirit of joy and connection to the Residents we serve. That ripple effect makes our community stronger, healthier, and even more vibrant.

As June comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a month filled with celebration, connection, and community here at RoseVilla. We came together for a Pride Cookout lunch, danced and cheered during our annual Pride Parade, and celebrated with a vibrant dance party and happy hour. Our halls were brightened by a community art installation, featuring works created by both Residents and Team Members, and today we close out the month with a performance by the Portland Le***an Choir.

Throughout it all, we embraced the spirit of our core value: Just Be You. In every celebration, every piece of art, every moment of joy, we created space for authenticity, expression, and belonging.

From the very beginning of June our Pride flag has been waving high. As our CEO Glen Lewis shared, “Raising this colorful symbol at the start of Pride Month is more than tradition. It's a visible, undeniable affirmation of safety, belonging, and love—for our LGBTQ+ Residents, Team Members, families, and friends.”

That’s why this year, the flag won’t come down. It will continue flying until we install a second flagpole, where it will find a permanent home next to our new RoseVilla flag. Two symbols raised side by side, representing a community that lives its values out loud. Because at RoseVilla, everyone deserves to live and love freely. To be seen. To belong. To be safe.
