YouthLine is a teen-to-teen youth crisis and support service provided by Lines for Life—a non-profit dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. YouthLine operates a national helpline that provides crisis support and referrals via call, text, and chat. YouthLine is answered by teens daily from 4pm-10pm PST and by adults at all other times. This account is NOT monitored 24/7.

At YouthLine, we believe that trans youth deserve respect, kindness, support, and safe spaces where they are seen for who they are. Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day, a day for honoring our Indigenous communities and uplifting native voices. We are highlighting the amazing work that our YouthLine Native team is doing in Warm Springs, inside their own community! In this post, you can see photos from our YouthLine Native office, outreach at Warm Springs K-8 Academy, and some merch from the Youth Rodeo in May.

YouthLine would also like to acknowledge that the land where our work occurs is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded homelands of multiple Indigenous communities. Our call centers in Portland, OR, are located on the territories of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, and Molalla nations, and our call centers in Central Oregon are located in the territories of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs comprised of the Wana Łama (Warm Springs), Wasq’ú (Wasco) and Northern Paiute people.

As we further our mission of destigmatizing mental health and supporting youth communities all over the country, we recognize the pain of colonization and honor the focus on healing and resilience in the native community.
