🤹‍♀️How active were you yesterday (and today!)? 🏃‍♀️

Studies show that on days you have to sit a lot, getting up and moving around for just a few minutes every hour can help improve your energy, focus, and generally make you feel better!

As a Psoriasis Warrior we can spend a lot of time dwelling on our skin and our flares. Show your skin some love and get it outside, shower it with Vitamin D and move for 20 minutes. You don’t have to break a sweat if you don’t want to - just basic movement will do wonders!

So - how active were you yesterday? I’ll start!

I played golf 🏌🏼‍♀️and I walked Lewis, my black lab 🏃🏻‍♀️🐾for a mile and a half...I was super active yesterday - I will rate that a 5!

Can you believe it’s December already…? At our house we end November by celebrating 🎉 Thanksgiving 🦃 followed by celebrating 🥳 Natalie on her birthday. December comes along and it’s time to decorate the house, shop and wrap gifts 🎁, bake🍪 and cook...plus (my birthday is coming!) The holidays truly bring me so much joy, but they can also cause me a little extra stress with the ever growing to-do list. Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed and paralzed by it all. Simply put, life tends to speed up at the end of every year for me. 🙎‍♀️

To keep my stress in order and to prevent a potential flare of psoriasis, I need to be creative with my time with work and home life. One way to manage it all is to be prepared with my meals. It’s cold and windy in Oregon right now so I really enjoy making soup. I actually like to batch cook soups 🍲 on the weekend and freeze them so they are ready to heat up for lunch or dinner.

This Potato and Kale soup is easy to make and tastes yummy. If you are Nightshade free simply leave out the tomatoes or replace them with vegetables of your choice like chopped onion or zucchini.

What's your favorite Trader Joe’s item⁉️

One of our favorite threads to run across online is a list of everyone's favorite items Trader Joe's-Portland,OR. There are so many fantastic items to choose from, and we've almost always found a new recipe staple when perusing these lists.

No matter where you're located, we can bet we have a similar problem. For months now, disinfectant wipes are impossible to find. They're in high demand, for sure, and also essential to have so we can keep our surfaces as clean as possible.

There's a very simple way to make your own disinfectant wipes at home.

In a 1-gallon glass jar, cut a roll of paper towels in half, length-wise.
Place the paper towel half into the glass jar.

Mix 1 cup Isopropyl alcohol (70% or above), 2 cups water, 1 tbsp dish soap, and 3-5 drops essential oil (optional). Some great essential oil options are orange, tea tree, or lemon.

Pour the mixture around paper towels and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Once it soaks into the paper towels, pull the cardboard middle out and toss. This will allow you to pull your wipes from the center, like in a regular disinfectant wipe canister.
