In nature, plants take care of plants. They communicate through underground networks, they climb all over each, and they protect one another.

This is how our houseplant tonics work too. Crafted thoughtfully by using the same compounds that plants create to protect and care for themselves. Plants growing plants ♻️🪴

Sending you love and abundant growth

Houseplants in their natural environment 🌿

Hi friends, as some of you know, I needed a mental health break after some pretty serious immigration stress and I am lucky enough to have a relative on the big island who is hosting me for a few days! SO grateful for this lush, landscape and feeling once again, inspired by our wise, vibrant, precious natural world.

This is one of a few videos we’ve posted over the years showing plants in their natural habitat to help raise awareness of how to better keep them in your homes. Please let us know if you enjoyed it!

Sending love, good energy and abundant growth to you all. 💚Karina

What flower are you obsessed with and are you growing it?

Those of you who have been following for a while know how in our previously disabled account, we got VERY excited every June when these bread seed begin blooming! (They may have even be the reason our previous account of over 208k followers and seven years of posts was disabled)😐

These are the same variety of seeds harvested in our garden many years ago and the same ones we experimented with last month by freezing them in ice cube trays to see if we could trick them into germination and…IT WORKED 🙌 check our previous posts for those details and be on the lookout for an update to see how they’re growing. We also have an in depth blog post dedicated to growing and eating poppies! These will be available in our shop later this summer.

There is still time to plant some of our heirloom seeds! Beans, mustard, onions, romanesco, edible flowers and cucumbers can all go into the ground this month! Link in bio to grab a few packs of heirloom, open pollinated and organically grown seeds!

Kelp is an abundant, sustainable, nutrient rich resource for your houseplants and gardens and a key ingredient in our plant care tonics!

Around 23 million years ago, ancient Kelp Forests began to thrive in shallow oceans and continue to grow throughout the waters surrounding our earth today.

Kelp is a nutrient-rich organism containing potent concentrations of trace minerals, 60 micronutrients (including calcium, magnesium, sulphur, manganese, copper, iron and zinc, a virtual powerhouse! Kelp is also one of the fastest growing protists in the world, reaching an amazing 18 inches in a single day!

We source our kelp from the cold waters of the North Atlantic and extract all that goodness into every bottle of our concentrated plant care tonics as it is high in naturally occurring phytohormones.

What’s a photohormone?

Photohormones are plant molecules that acts as a natural growth stimulant. In other words, it’s a chemical messenger that coordinates the cellular activities of your plants telling them to grow!

Have you watched as our tonics breathe new life into your plants too? Isn’t Nature incredible?!

Humans have been harvesting the soft bodied insects from nopal paddles to create red pigment for cosmetics and culinary purposes for thousands of years! And now we’ve figured out a way to turn those abundant cactus paddle skins into vegan leather?! and the nopal juice into Bioplastic?! So incredible

Have you ever wondered what that velvety bluish, greenish, silver, or GLAUCOUS hue that gives some plants and trees that magical appearance?
It’s Epicuticular wax! These waxes are three dimensional crystals covering the outermost layer of most land plants. They protect and keep the plant hydrated and provide sunblock and pest protection too!

Thanks for sharing this moment of with us! This clip was from my walk yesterday in the coastal town of Bodrum, Turkey where opuntia grow as living fences outlining farmland and home gardens. Always

Have you ever noticed these tiny treasures growing in trees?

Pretty easy to overlook, but if you slow down a bit and begin to notice more details in our natural world chances are you’ll become more aware of the magic is all around!

We call it many refer to it as or and it’s the best medicine we know for stress and anxiety.

Thought the timing of this hike and this find today was quite appropriate for us all right now.

🍄‍🟫 Mycena are teeny tiny that use enzymes to digest organic matter, in this case the bark a maple tree. In other words they are turning decaying wood into sugars that give them energy while turning bark into soil for plants and trees to then grow.

Who knew decomposers could be so adorable?!
