1972 National APIC was formed.

1975 Local chapters were proposed by National. November 1, 1977 The Greater Kansas City Area APIC was accepted as a chapter with 31 members. Karen Shick, Research Medical Center was the first President of our chapter 031. Today, the Greater Kansas City APIC Chapter has over 130 members from Kansas and Missouri.
