This Saturday, January 21 I'll be teaching a How to Vinyasa workshop at Portland Rock Gym!
The vinyasya sequence (plank, chaturanga, up dog, down dog) of flow yoga classes ubiquitous but rarely *taught* And this is a challenging sequence of poses!! The traditional sequence requires tremendous strength through the core, arms, and upper back, as well as significant mobility through the entire spine.
During the workshop we'll talk about what vinyasa is, WHY we do this, and HOW we can vinyasa in collaboration with our bodies to enjoy the benefits without harm. We'll break down each component part, walk through the transitions between poses, and practice alternative versions so that your yoga menu offers you plenty to choose from each time you come to your mat.
