Great discussion on our latest read was held this afternoon for our Volunteer Book Club ladies, and of course, an enjoyable time was had by all! Next month’s read is “Flat Broke With Two Goats” by Jennifer McGaha. We also decided to meet on March 27th at 12pm in the Volunteer Office. Tomorrow is National Muffin Day, and I couldn’t resist baking up a little happiness for you this evening. Fresh from my kitchen, I’ve conjured up homemade Carrot Coconut & Chocolate Chip Muffins — baked with much appreciation for all you do! So thankful for the countless moments, the laughter in our busy office, and the incredible volunteers who give their time and hearts to SOMC every day. Trust me, behind every smiling face is so much love and dedication. Gift Gallery volunteers do not need to report, as the Gift Gallery will be staffed by Volunteer Services.

What a transformation! We know many of you have been anticipating Volunteer Services moving to a more accessible location—and the day has finally arrived! 🎉

Volunteer Services is now located in the Main Hospital – Room A1044, just around the corner from the Gift Gallery. Our new space is easy to access for volunteers, staff, and students, with plenty of room to gather and enjoy soups and treats from the Volunteer Café & Grill. 🍲☕

Looking forward to seeing you and welcoming you into our new space!

Volunteer Opportunity
Infusion Area (Cancer Center)

We are looking for volunteers to spend time with patients receiving treatment in the infusion area of the Cancer Center. Your presence can make a meaningful difference through simple acts of kindness—rounding, friendly conversation, and offering comfort items such as coffee, water, snacks, and warm blankets.

Volunteer hours are flexible and available anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. You do not need to commit to a full shift; even a short visit can brighten someone’s day. If interested, please contact SOMC Volunteer Services at 740-356-8234.
