Maggi's Walk Meningitis Awareness

09/15/2014

Evan Wright update: most likely viral meningitis which is great news. Evan was still confused and in some pain this am. Hoping tomorrow is a better day. Praying for a complete recovery!

09/13/2014

Our friend, Evan is waiting for viral vs bacterial blood cultures to come back in the next 12 hrs. He is not on ICU, which is a good sign. He can converse and is watching tv. Please continue to pray and we will share updates as we know more.

Please stop and pray right now for a loving father of little Jonah and amazing husband to Michaela. Meningitis is suspected! He is the son-in law to Dennis and Christine Walsh, close friends of ours. Will post updates as I receive them. Christine has served on my board for Maggi's Foundation for the last 3 years.

Keep the prayers coming for Little Nate. He is still in the PICU but showing signs of improvement. Love this little guy and the whole Zeller family!

Please pray for Nate Zeller of Paola. He is near and dear to our hearts! Prayers needed for his healing as he rests in the PICU in the hospital from a flu like illness. He is now on a Bi-Pap machine. Nate is a meningitis survivor we have featured on our page. We love this special little guy and his entire family! Pray for healing, family's strength, wisdom of doctor's , and for them to feel touch of Jesus' hand.

This past week I was out in public wearing my Maggi's Walk t-shirt. A woman approached me. She has a high school senior and was unaware there is a vaccine. She said that she will take her daughter to get one before college. This started a longer conversation which ended with the hope she may not delay and get one right away.

Side note: I was surprised to see yard signs at Walgreen's advertising the meningitis vaccine. The signs were nested in with the flu shot and pneumonia shot vaccine signs. Love that!

Happy, healthy wishes to you all,
Aimee (Maggi's little sis).

I met Franklin this summer while I was in Florida getting my legs "tuned-up." Been looking for someone to help with the proceeds from Maggi's Walk, and in rolls Franklin! He was in the US on vacation with his family last year when he became suddenly ill with a severe illness and infection, (meningitis) that took his legs and hands. He is able to stay in the US with his dad and sister. He has been through so much, living in a new country and learning to adapt to life as a quadrilateral amputee. Although he didn't speak much English when we met, his smile just melted my heart!

Franklin's perception of the illness that resulted in the amputation of his limbs has never been "why me?"; but more like "life happened." He is grateful to ...
