Hello everyone!
Now that we are in the home stretch of him finally being able to go home!!
we wanted to take some time and acknowledge that although his dr. appointments and treatments aren’t coming to a halt, he will finally be able to recover in the comfort of his own home🩵
That being said the transition from day to day life before the accident and after might take some getting used to at first.
I have set up a meal train in place to hopefully take the pressure off having to prep, cook, and clean while still learning thier new ways as a family!
My intentions were for people near or far to be able to contribute, if they wanted too. I selected a 10 day strech, it can be extended or shortened if needed.
I attached a signup sheet with a few additional prompts if anyone was interested in making thier go home transition a little smoother🩵🩵🩵

This is all new to me so if there are any hiccups please reach out to us!

This meal train is to help take some of the extras off their plate for the first few days home, it will make extra time for family to settle back home and get situated!

These boys are braving the cold to make sure he’s taken care of❄️

He was able get his tracheotomy out today, along with the G-tube, as you can imagine he was very happy for those to go🩵🩵
He enjoyed some lasagna today seems how his diet is back to a normal diet, other than thickened liquids!
He has a tentative go home day of 1/21/25!!
We will need adjustment time during that process, but wanted to share the awesome news!

HOMEBOUND🎄

He is officially on the road to a rehab in Michigan! We want to thank everyone who helped us get to this point! We are incredibly grateful for this Christmas miracle!
We want to remind everyone that he is still recovering and will need time to settle in. We dont plan on sharing his exact location, as he will need time to acclimate to the new ways of the facility! We dont want him to feel overwhelmed with people, or emotions.
However we wanted to share that he is headed back to the snowy mitten, at this very moment🩵🩵🩵

We ask you to keep the team bringing him home in your thoughts, as that is a long drive!

Follow up:
He is eating on his own, and trach has been pulled, few days and itll be all healed up!
G-tube will stay for now🩵🩵

Hello eveyone, a quick update.
We have had a few referrals to rehab programs in Michigan sent out and are not so patiently waiting for confirmation of approval and transport.
He had a barium swallow study done and he passed, so the trach should be coming out soon and he should be able to start eating again!
These are all amazing things happening, and he is headed in the right direction🩵

Sorry for the inconsistency with updates, things day to day dont changed much.
He has came a long way, but there is still a long way to go!
We are working hard to get him home, he kept having episodes at night where his vitals would drop, and it would cause them to put him back on the vent. He has to be off the vent for 48 hours and only on 4 liter of oxygen so he can travel home.

We want to personally say thank you to everyone who put on the benefit, and to those who attend! We couldn’t have gotten this far without the love and support from all of you🩵🩵

Good evening everyone, as you know our family needed time to process the injuries that he sustained during his accident. Although we have made accurate updates, here on this page, we also have been leaving some things unanswered. Now that he is awake, alert, and trying best to talk, we are ready to share new information, but only after the man himself approved it🩵
During his accident he fractured T6-T10 in his Thoracic spine, and T8 completely shattered. Unfortunately a shard from T8 cut through his spinal cord, causing him to loose motor function from the waist down. A surgery was performed to get his spine back into the correct position and to clean up some of those pieces, but In blatant terms, his lower body is paralyzed. However, we are doing everything in our power to make sure that he can still do his day to day living, and it be as normal as possible.

There will need to be a lot of changes in the upcoming months to get us there, but we willing to do whatever it takes, we will have an amazing support group behind him!

We appreciate all the love and support we have received this far, and will continue to have over these next few months. It takes a village, and that is just what he has🩵🩵🩵

As of last night he is back on the ventilator through his trach, he was having issues breathing last night and needed the support. Today with testing it was confirmed that he has Aspiration pneumonia. They plan to leave him on the vent for a few days, and monitor his progress, and start him back on antibiotics. Unfortunately he is back on the g-tube food now until they can get ever under control

Tomorrow will be a better day🩵
