In its 7th year, the JFCS Women’s Alliance rose to the challenge of combatting food insecurity by raising over $126,000 in support of the JFCS pantry. The annual alliance event welcomed Beejhy Barhany, Ethiopian Israeli chef and owner of Tsion Café in Harlem. Beejhy spoke about her new cookbook, GURSHA: "Gursha, the title of my book, is fully inspired by the environment I grew up in. It is literally the act of feeding the person next to you as a sign of love, of respect.”
The Alliance embodies this concept, the generosity and compassion show by feeding our most vulnerable neighbors. Thank you to all who supported the Alliance, and who continue to step up for the pantry.

We're looking back with pride and looking forward with purpose. Our 5th Annual Wheels for Meals could not have come at a more important time for food security. 800,000 people across our state are facing the loss of SNAP benefits, 39% of those are children.
You can continue to donate towards our Wheels for Meals goal at jfcswheels4meals.org. All proceeds support JFCS food programs, which help over 2,000 households each month.
