Your Strongest Finish of 2025 Starts Now!
I had one of those “how is time even real?” moments this morning when I realized:
👉 We’re 1 week from Thanksgiving…
👉 5 weeks from Christmas…
👉 and 6 weeks from 2026! 😱🤪
Yep. We’re officially in the blink and suddenly it's January season.
But I have good news:
You do not have to slide into the holidays on the struggle bus and spend the first month of 2026 “starting over”… again. With a little intention and a few simple strategies, you can enjoy the season and keep your health on track.
Here are a few of my favorite holiday-proofing tips, pulled right from my “Not Going Off the Rails” playbook:
1. Predecide
Before each event, ask yourself:
~ What do I really want to enjoy?
~ What am I willing to skip?
~ What will hold me accountable?
~ If you’re drinking, how many drinks will you intentionally choose?
A tiny bit of pre-planning goes a long way.
2. Don’t Starve Yourself
Please don’t “save up calories.”
All it does is turn you into a starving gremlin who will inhale anything within arm’s reach. Rather, eat light, balanced meals with protein throughout the day so you can enjoy the special food without the post-meal regret spiral.
3. Be Mindful
Slow down. Make memories. Be present.
Match every festive drink with some good old-fashioned H2O.
The real holiday magic is in the moments, not the menu.
4. Follow the 80/20 Rule
There are 93 meals in December. Even if 5–10 of them are indulgent holiday events, that’s still less than 10% of the month. You’re not “off track”—> you’re living your life.
5. Clean Slate Policy
If you go a little sideways, don’t fall into all-or-nothing thinking. Take a breath, wipe the slate clean, and move on with your plan. That’s how real progress happens.
6. Grace + Replace
❤️ Give yourself grace. Speak to yourself kindly.
😌 Replace the negative self-talk with something supportive.
📈 Then gently course-correct.
👊 The quicker you get back in the groove, the easier it feels.
