Join us to cheer on Brown Men’s Crew as they row against Dartmouth, the only home race for this season, and a key matchup as the Brown crews prepare for the Eastern Sprints and National Championships in May. We’ll be gathering with drinks and light snacks on the banks of the Seekonk River near the finish line to cheer on all four of the Brown’s boats – Varsity 8, Junior Varsity 8, 3rd Varsity 8, and 4 th Varsity 8. After the race, we’ll drive a short way to the Marston Boathouse, where we’ll meet the crews, have a luncheon with the athletes, attend the cup ceremony, and take a boathouse tour.

Brown Alumni, join us for a perfect Saturday exploring the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum in Newport, Rhode Island.

We’ll start the day by meeting at 10:00am at Empire Tea & Coffee (112 William Street - just across the street from the museum) for coffee and pastries—an easy, relaxed way to connect with fellow alumni before heading over together for our tour. The tour will begin at 11:00am at the International Tennis Hall of Fame Museum (194 Bellevue Ave).

This outing is especially great for those who love tennis, enjoy the history of the sport, or simply want to spend time with the Brown alumni community in one of Rhode Island’s most beautiful settings.

Back in September, over 60 Brown community members attended a special talk and reception for the John Carter Brown (JCB) Library’s exhibition “The Elemental Book: Crafting Books from Nature.” José de Montelongo, the Maury A. Bromsen Curator of Latin American Books for JCB, emphasized the corporeal nature of books made in or about the early Americas, and selected from the Library’s internationally renowned collection.

We hope you’ll join the Brown Club of Rhode Island for more engaging events like this soon!

On February 8th, see Ballet RI’s acclaimed Made on Hope with fellow Brown Alumni in the intimacy of its 85 seat Black Box Theater.

Experience a wide-ranging evening of dance and drama with a stunning spectacle of leaps and spins that feel larger than life in the tiny space that is the black box theater. On Saturday, February 7, the University will hold a Memorial Service on campus to honor Ella Cook and MukhammadAziz Umurzokov. While on-campus elements of the memorial will be reserved for students, faculty, and staff, the service will be shared with alumni and the broader community via livestream.

Alumni are invited to gather locally with fellow Brunonians to view the memorial together and spend time in reflection and remembrance. These small, community-based gatherings offer an opportunity to connect, support one another, and honor Ella and MukhammadAziz in shared space.
