I’d say I’m almost done posting about this, but I’m not. Not even close.

I am just so incredibly thankful for this opportunity and for the outpouring of love that’s come with it. I don’t think I’ve ever received so many kind messages in my life. From family, to classmates, to past coworkers, to childhood friends, to neighbors, to people I haven’t talked to in years, and even complete strangers on social media. It’s been overwhelming in the best way.

This whole experience still doesn’t feel real. Sharing something I kept quiet for so long and having it be met with this much support has honestly meant more to me than I can put into words. I keep thinking about how many different seasons of my life are represented in the people who’ve reached out, and it’s made this moment feel even more full-circle.

Seeing my dad up on that screen was one of the best parts. He was once over the moon to have his backyard of snow featured on the local news so if he knew his face was on national television, I think his mind would’ve been blown.

I’m really proud of myself for doing something that scared me, and I’m really grateful to feel so supported while doing it. Thank you to everyone who watched, shared, sent a message, or just quietly cheered me on.

The best feeling on earth.

Coming home and watching this together was a moment I didn’t know I needed. After all the nerves, the buildup, and the adrenaline, this was the part that made everything settle.

I also double checked if this was cool or embarrassing and I’m happy to report back that my kiddos think I’m very very cool. 🄹

Hi, I’m Emily šŸ¤ If you’re new here, welcome!!

I’m the owner and creative behind Something Borrowed, a Rhode Island–based wedding details studio. I design and create custom invitations and decor for couples who care deeply about the little things and want their guests to feel thought of and taken care of.

Outside of work, I’m a mom of two, tens years into being married to my husband and business partner, and very much figuring life out as I go. I built this business during a season of grief, change, and uncertainty, and in a lot of ways it grew right alongside me.

Recently, I shared more of my personal story than I ever thought I would. For most of my life, my health and my relationship with my body were things I carried quietly. Opening up about that has been uncomfortable and incredibly freeing, and it’s reminded me how powerful honesty can be.

I’m still very much in the middle of that journey, but I feel stronger, more present, and more hopeful about the future than I ever have.

Here you’ll find a mix of wedding work, behind-the-scenes moments, life updates, and the occasional Taylor Swift reference. I love a reason to celebrate, meaningful details, Newport sunsets, Diet Coke via IV drip, true crime documentaries, and a really good TV series you can binge.

Whether you’re here for weddings, creativity, or because something I shared resonated with you, I’m so glad you found your way here šŸ¤ the best is yet to come!

Got my nails done last week for something that still doesn’t feel real šŸ’…āœØ

If you’ve been catching the little sneaks in my stories, you know this week is a big one. I’ve been sitting with a lot of gratitude lately and trying to soak it all in instead of rushing past it. There’s so much I want to share, and I will very soon…

More to come šŸ¤

Because the little details matter…like 2mm pearls hand applied to each menu & shell place card.

When couples work with us, they are not just investing in paper goods and details. They are investing in their time back.

This one element alone required more than 18 hours of production, from surrounding each custom designed menu in it’s blue hydrangea cardstock wrap, applying a wax seal to connect the wrap itself, creating shell place cards adorned with each guest name in metallic gold, and individually applied pearls for each shell & seal. That doesn’t include design & printing, sorting by assigned seat and table, preparing all for delivery, or setting them up on the day of - which of course, we handle as well.

Hours they did not have to spend.

Details they did not have to manage.

And a final result that feels thoughtful, intentional, and entirely theirs. ✨

A year made of big moments and quiet ones too. Full wedding weekends, meaningful client relationships, creative risks, late nights, early mornings, and everything that happened in between.

2025 reminded me how lucky I am to work with couples who trust me with such personal parts of their days, and to be surrounded by a community of vendors, creatives, friends, and supporters who truly show up. So much of what you see here exists because of collaboration, encouragement, and people choosing community over competition.

On a personal level, this year stretched me, grounded me, and helped me find more balance between building a business I’m proud of and being present for the life happening alongside it.

Closing out 2025 with a grateful heart and stepping into 2026 excited, hopeful, and ready for what’s next. Wishing the same growth, clarity, and joy for anyone walking into a new season right now šŸ¤
