When a child is screaming, it’s not defiance — it’s a communication breakdown.

Big feelings + not enough words = meltdown.

In those moments, telling them to “use your words” doesn’t help…
because they don’t have the words yet.

This is where you step in 👇
Stay calm.
Name the feeling.
Model the words you think they would say if they could.

“You’re so mad.”
“You wanted more time.”
“Help me.”

The more they hear it, the more likely they are to use it.

That’s how communication grows — not through pressure, but through support.

Save this for the next meltdown (you won’t remember it in the moment 🤍)
and share with a parent who needs this reminder.

Babies don’t need complicated activities to learn language.

This is one of my favorite low-effort, high-impact ways to build language skills:

✔️ Follow their lead✔️ Model ONE simple word✔️ Say it right as they do it
In this case: “pull!”

The key? Repetition

The more often your baby hears a word in the moment, the more their brain starts to connect meaning to it.And over time… that’s what helps them say it on their own 🗣️

They may not be talking yet, but they are constantly learning and understanding.

✨ Simple moments = powerful language learning

Save this to try later & follow for more easy ways to support your baby’s communication

When kids repeat a behavior, it’s usually because it works ⭐️

Not because they’re “bad” or trying to be difficult but because their brain is learning what gets results.

Example:You’re at the grocery store.Your child asks for ice cream. You say no.
They cry… and eventually, you give in. 🍦
In that moment, the tantrum didn’t endit was reinforced.
So next time? They’re more likely to cry longer, louder, and harder.

💡 Consistent boundaries are what help behaviors fade over time.
Save this for your next public meltdown 🛒

Your baby’s cry is designed to activate your brain🧠

It increases bonding and stress at the same time, which is why it can feel so intense 🔥

You’re not doing anything wrong. You’re responding exactly how you were designed to. ❤️

5 Easy Sensory Play Activities to Boost Mental 🧠 Health 🌟

Sensory play is any activity that stimulates our senses: touch, sight, hearing, smell, taste, balance & body positioning.

5 easy outdoor sensory activities:

1. Walking or sitting barefoot on the grass 🌱➡️ Great grounding exercise to keep children focused on the here & now. Helps kids learn about spatial relations, forms neural connections & reduces sensitivity to different textures
2. Swinging ➡️ enhances mood & releases endorphins. helps develop to vestibular system & inner ear fluid which helps kids balance
3. Blowing bubbles 🫧➡️ works on visual tracking skills, reduces sensitivity to textures, builds organization/focusing skills & helps kids learn to take a deep breath 😮‍💨
4. Playing with sand 🏝️ ➡️ introduced different types of textures & helps kids calm their bodies through movement. Reduces anxiety & helps kids be present in the moment
5. Swimming 🏊 ➡️ works on gross & fine motor skills while also exposing kids to different textures & temperatures. Helps kids lower their stress levels & increases endorphins 🏊
