You can spend YEARS (I mean actual years, maybe decades) focusing on the false problem that’s just the front for the real problem.

All while you could have been solving the real problem instead of coming up with a stronger case to defend your false problem.

It’s been a minute since I wrote an “in your face” type of post, but it had to be done.

This is what my clients deal with for years until they come to my health coaching virtual office.

Then we do the real work.

If you fight for your limitations, you get to keep them. If you fight for your fake limitations, you get to keep all of them too.

It’s just reps.
Reps of planning a lunch that isn’t ideal but works.
Reps of eating a little more mindfully today than yesterday.
Reps of messing up and returning anyway.
Reps of noticing what actually fits your life instead of forcing what doesn’t.
Confidence doesn’t come from flawless execution.
It comes from doing, and doing again, and watching yourself survive the messiness.

I was just talking about this with a client who wants to cook more at home and do their meal prep on the weekends. There’s a bunch of small steps that go into a weekly meal prep.

Steps that clients are mostly aware of:

Creating a menu
Writing a shopping list
Grocery shopping
Prepping food and produce
Cooking and storing prepped food

Steps that clients are less aware of:

Making time (scheduling it in your calendar) and realistically estimating the amount of time you actually need to complete prepping tasks.

Doing smaller tasks during the week such as building a menu on Thursday, grocery shopping on Friday, prepping veggies on a Saturday, and cooking it all on Sunday. Instead of doing it all on a Sunday.

Asking for help aka including family members.

Prepping isn’t the strategy for everyone. It’s for the peppers :)

It can be intimidating and time consuming if you’ve never done it.

Like with everything, you gotta start small so that small tasks can join hands as you’re forming the big habit of having prepped meals every week.

Fast food - but make it healthy.

I rarely compromise flavor&nutrients for speed, and neither should you.

Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda were spotted together by paparazzi on Halloween. They were petting cats, stealing candy from babies and drinking beer. They DGAF anymore either.
