As an entrepreneur, chances are you neglect your sleep big time, so you can be “more productive”.
In reality, you’re spending more time working while being less productive.
It’s incredibly inefficient.
Your focus, energy, and intensity are direct outcomes of the quality of your sleep.
This doesn’t mean you need to sleep for 10 hours a night. Quality of sleep is much more important than quantity.
Here are 3 ways to increasing your energy, focus, and productivity through quality sleep:
Align Light Exposure with Circadian Rhythm
Our body regulates itself based on our circadian rhythm, our internal clock. Get plenty of sunlight exposure during the day, and use dim lighting for the hours leading up to sleep. Completely blackout your room at night.
Get a workout in at the right time
When doing a hard workout, your body releases cortisol, which stimulates your body and suppresses melatonin production. Do your workout no later than 3 hours prior to sleep.
Eat Properly
The most food that you consume is likely inflammatory and hurts the quality of your sleep. Stick to non-processed foods and fresh local produce and meat. Have your last bite of food no later than 2-3 hours prior to sleep.
Most importantly, these things all take consistency. It’s compound interest. The more consistent the quality of sleep you get, the more of a beast you’ll become.
