I’m trying to recapture my joy in creating little bits at a time. I have decided to get the art supplies out of the closet and put them in my living room so when creativity strikes … the means to create isn’t so far away.

Inspiration and I have been on a bit of a break lately (it’s not me, it’s the state of the world). It’s like my brain just wouldn’t spark anything and it was very frustrating. But somewhere between doodling tiny hats on cats, I felt that spark coming back—the kind that reminds me why I love making weird, wonderful things in the first place.

I knew I wanted to do a couple carts with cat inspo and I needed some new birthday cards. Next thing I know the sketch is on paper, and a day later I’m doing test prints! Big shout out to the kitties and my cat loving friends who helped me refine this design to something that brought the smile back to my face.

I’m feeling extra thankful for silly ideas, tiny sparks of joy, and these two curious kitties that are now a part of the Raven and Unicorn family of greeting cards.

(And yes I have double mugs in the picture … offscreen there is a Dunkin’ cup and my water bottle, too. I will always and forever be a beverage goblin!)

As a major New Girl enthusiast (and 110% Winston stan), I couldn’t resist hand-lettering one of his iconic lines: ‘Shawty, what that thing do?’ Because, honestly, nothing says I love you (or I like you a lot) quite like Winston-level humor.

I’m finally back to drawing and have some new bookish and cozy holiday designs for you! Starting to draw again has really helped me stay sane recently and I’m so grateful to be able to bring new things to you.

I haven’t posted in a minute. I had to take some time for myself and my mental health away from social media, especially this past week plus.

I’ve been numb, sad, and angry for obvious reasons but thru talks with family and friends I know I can’t lose myself over this. So while I still have emotional things to work thru, I’m not going to stop doing the things I love.

Today we got to donate $210 to from the proceeds of you all purchasing the Mountain love set. This will hopefully be our first donation of many!

Between everything happening in WNC and the upcoming election it’s been a mentally anxious time for so many of us. Being able to send this money we raised and put something good into the world was a little of the hope and joy we needed in our lives today.

We’re so grateful and thankful for those of you who purchased and shared the card sets! They will continue to stay up on our website and we will keep donating the proceeds of this set. Love you all!

My heart goes out to all the families and businesses affected by Hurricane Helene. In an effort to do what we can from afar please consider purchasing one of these card sets. A sweet friend of mine () organized writing letters of encouragement to aid workers, helpers, farmers, medical staff, families and more in WNC and I created this card to do that. I hope you enjoy the artwork but even more I hope we can raise some money for these great organization helping people who really need it.

100% of profits from these card sets will be split between ncartsfoundation.org and who are helping with hurricane relief efforts in WNC. When we start getting donations in I’ll post the receipts of the donations for you.

NO Woman, No Girl (NWNG) is a 501 3c that is very involved right now in providing hygiene product kits to people in so much need of help in WNC. They also have an Amazon wishlist available (link thru their instagram) to help put those much needed kits together, so please go check that out!

NCArtsFoundation.org is collecting for the NC Arts Disaster Fund providing assistance and funding to artists and arts organizations affected by Hurricane Helene. Please check out their website for more info.

Even if you don’t purchase anything, consider donating directly to one of these organizations or another one that is helping the residents of WNC. Love you, all and thank you in advance 🩷

✨ New logo, who dis? 🖤🦄

Raven and Unicorn is getting a glow-up! Same small shop you love, but a new look. Yes, I designed it but I’m still obsessed with it. I’m excited to roll out this new branding in stages—it feels like the perfect reflection of where I’m at in life and business right now.

🍁 Ready to make this Fall one for the books? 🎃✨

My 2024 Fall Bucket List is filled with all the things cozy—apple picking, homemade PSLs, and there will be a valiant attempt at knitting/crocheting (because why not?)!

This last year I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with a group that is bringing back my joy and creative brain with so many fun get togethers and activities. I wrote my first bucket list for summer (drawn by my lovely friend ) and for Fall I’m trying my hand at making my own. I haven’t gone full creative with the markers and lovely drawing like she did for my summer list, but I did lean on my current skillset which is drawing in Procreate!

This is just a start and I’m hoping to create an additional list (surprisingly I’ve checked off a couple of these items already! Yes, I know Fall started yesterday … but it started months ago in my heart!). I feel like my next one needs to be spooky theme only. Please share your Fall bucket list items in the comments; I’d love to hear your plans and traditions for fall, too!
