If one more person tells you to ā€œjust take care of yourselfā€ā€¦ šŸ˜…

This one’s for the parents who are doing their best to hold it all together with duct tape and caffeine (and maybe a 120-pound dog who keeps stealing the duct tape).

ā€œTake care of yourselfā€ sounds kind—but when you’re juggling work, meals, meltdowns, and maybe your own mental health—it can feel like a slap in the face.

It’s not that we don’t want to take care of ourselves. It’s that we need a village—and too often, no one’s stepping in to be the village.

So let’s start changing that. Offer coffee. Drop off dinner. Watch the kids for an hour. Real self-care isn’t bubble baths—it’s connection, community, and compassion that shows up.

I wrote about this in my latest blog post:
šŸ‘‰ Duct Tape, Coffee, and the Myth of Self-Care
Read here: https://www.laurasnydertherapy.com/blog/just-take-care-of-yourself

šŸ’¬ I’d love to know—what’s one real act of support that’s helped you (or that you’ve offered someone else)?

ā€œTake care of yourselfā€ sounds nice—but here’s why that advice fails busy parents and what real, sustainable self-care looks like instead.
