Fatty fish improve cognitive function and mental health. They are also rich in vitamin D, which can help with depression. ​​​​​​​​

Pumpkin seeds help regulate electrolyte balance and manage blood pressure. ​​​​​​​​

Is your nervous system getting enough of each of these things, daily? ​​​​​​​​

Often times, I hear people with low back pain stating that they have laid in bed for days because of their pain. ​​​​​​​​

Guess what? That’s not going to make them any better. In fact, it may make them worse! Give the nerves space, movement, and blood flow! ​​​​​​​​

Need space? How about a massage! Need movement? How about a few gentle stretches or “nerve glides” (we’ll talk about these another time). Need blood flow? Get out for a walk! ​​​​​​​​

So many of us forget or neglect these simple but very important practices. ​​​​​​​​

Maybe people feel guilty slowing down. ​​​​​​​​

I, personally often feel like I have "too much" on my plate, and "don't have time" for that "kind of stuff". Not good. ​​​​​​​​

The fear of slowing down would not even be an issue if we all just took advantage of meditation, the greatest tool we have to make success happen.​​​​​​​​

According to the British Medical Journal, 84% of the fat you lose is converted into carbon dioxide. We breathe it out as we exercise or go about our day. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
The remaining 16% converts to water. We excrete that through urine, f***s, sweat, and tears. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Just one more reason to validate that exercise is good!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​

The central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) has many requirements so that it functions properly. ​​​​​​​​

It's a big machine! It needs a lot of attention! ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Therefore, the body prioritizes and sends nutrients there first to protect, preserve, and ensure that the nervous system is running optimally! How smart! ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
So what nutrients do we need to optimize this system? ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
1 - Vitamin B12 (for nervous system health). Eat foods such as beef, chicken, fish, cereal, yogurt, cheese, and eggs.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
2 - Phosphatidylserine (for all cellular function, especially in nerve cells). Eat foods such as white beans, soy, egg yolks, chicken liver, and beef liver.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
3 - Grape-seed extract increases circulation (the better the circulation is in your body, the healthier the brain and the nervous system will be). ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
4 - Coenzyme Q10 (best anti-oxidant for the central nervous system that combats free radical damage). Eat foods such as fatty fish, meat, soybeans, and vegetables.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
