Stabilize your core to protect your spine if you are out shoveling! Here are some quick tips!
• PUSH snow when possible, don’t lift
• Keep the shovel CLOSE to your body
• Avoid twisting, MOVE your feet
• Take breaks, BREATHE & enjoy the fresh air to avoid fatigue
• SWITCH sides often to stay balanced
• Use SMALL loads, more reps
• Stretch BEFORE & AFTER
• Stay in good FORM, no rounded backs
• Wear shoes with GRIP to avoid slips
• PACE yourself
• STOP if that little voice tells you it’s too much or if your back starts aching
• Send those KIDDOS out to do the work so they have stories for their own kiddos one day 😉
