November is National Diabetes Month, a time when communities across the country seek to bring attention to diabetes. This year’s focus is on taking action to prevent diabetes health problems.

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. It affects about 37 million Americans, including adults and youth. Diabetes can damage the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart, and it is linked to some types of cancer.

But there’s also good news: Taking charge of your health may help you prevent diabetes health problems. Here are some tips for managing your diabetes, starting with keeping an eye on your ABCs.

🍎A is for the A1C test that health care professionals use to measure your average blood glucose levels. Some people with diabetes also use devices to track their blood glucose throughout the day and night.

🍎B is for blood pressure.

🍎C is for cholesterol.

Happy Tuesday! Meet Marie T., one of this months Employee Spotlights!

Marie has tons of hobbies, including family time (including her two dogs Jem & Atticus), gym, sports, Formula 1, reading, cooking, baking, painting and music! Two of her biggest wishes are to find a new pancreas for her son and to travel to India!

Marie has been a member of the ProCred team since August of 2021. She has worked on several ProCred teams during that time and currently goes above and beyond as our NCQA Compliance & Marketing Strategy Coordinator. We're lucky to have you, Marie!

Happy Monday! Meet Irvin A., one of this months Employee Spotlights!

Irvin has a passion for poetry (reading AND writing) theology (he loves learning about different faiths), cricket (playing AND watching), and movies (especially comedy). One of his dreams is to have his own farmhouse in the hills and he dreams of the day when no one on earth has to go hungry.

Irvin began his career with ProCred in September of 2022. He consistently wows his team with his leadership and organization skills, and is a pro at delegating tasks and generally overseeing his accounts. We are so happy to have you on our team, Irvin!

Did you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Here are some ways you can get involved:

1. Wear Pink - Ribbons, clothing, and pink accessories aren't just fashionable. Pink can raise awareness and be a great Breast Cancer Awareness conversation starter.

2. Self Care - Regular self-exams, clinical exams and mammograms, especially if you are over the age of 40, are important for early detection.

3. Donate - Contribute to breast cancer research, advocacy, and support organizations through donations and fundraisers. Do your research and donate what you can. www.nationalbreastcancer.org and www.komen.org are good places to start!

4. Sharing is Caring: Use social media to share breast cancer awareness facts, stories, and resources. Be a friend and share this post now. 🌸

Happy Friday! Meet Milley R., this month's Employee Spotlight!

Milley strives to be a friend to all animals and her ultimate dream is to one day own her own home! When she's not working hard as a ProCred Credentialing Specialist, she loves dancing, spending time with family and gardening.

Milley began her career with ProCred in 2022. She has proven to be a dependable team member who consistently produces top-notch results. Thanks for your hard work, Milley!

Meet James (Jimmy!) P., our August Spotlight Employee!

Jimmy's hobbies include practicing martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing! Three fun facts about Jimmy: 1) He hopes one day all animals in shelters would get adopted. 2) He would love to own his own Jiu-Jitsu Academy. 3) If he could have any super power, he would choose the power of teleportation!

Jimmy began his career with ProCred in October of 2019 as a Data Analyst. Throughout his 4 years of employment, he has proven himself to be a reliable employee who consistently delivers high-quality work. Thanks for your hard work, Jimmy and congrats!
