Last day of college, my undergrad specifically. Ending it with a 4.0 for the semester. I worked my butt off, for sure. But I had SO much help along the way. I couldn't have done it without so many people, doing big and small things along the way.
Luke Mitchell has always been the hardest working person I know. He worked so I could be home with the boys when they were young, and then worked to take care of the family financially while I pursued my dreams. Never complaining, no resentment. Just consistently cheering me on, loving me and doing small things at home when I was overwhelmed. I thank God every day that He gave me this life partner; after 16 years, I love him more than I did the day before.
My parents Paul Stuevens and Jacki have lived with us off and on for the last three years, helping with the boys schedules, cleaning the house when I was gone all day, fixed things around the house when Luke was working endless hours. Just doing whatever they saw my family needed done. The boys got the huge blessing having their grandparents here daily, listening to their challenges, imparting wisdom and loving on them. Best grandparents/parents ever.
Endless friends and family that have cheered me on, picked up slack when I was rushed, assisted with my boys, offered words of love and encouragement... I cant do life without you all. My sisters Lydia Stuevens Robinson, Kristina Stuevens-West and Brooke Keffer. Shea Marshall, Erin Smith, Jenna Rankin, Jandee Smart, Jasmine Pallanes, Dietrichs coaches, our Crush family, my neighbor Mike, all of you. You're amazing and you deserve to know how thankful I am for all of you.
Now to enjoy the holiday with my four favorite men, then job hunting and my masters degree! Onward and upward!

Due to some very unfortunate recent events in my life, I'm temporarily (and maybe permanently) deactivating my social media accounts. I love all of you so much, so I hope everyone who has my phone number will stay in contact with me.

Hopefully, I will be back! On a different note, pray for our country. This disgusting hatred and lack of civil discourse for simply having a different opinion does not represent the country I love so much. Pray for the Kirk family, and may Charlie rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

My middle is a teenager today. I'm so proud of this kid; he has a grit, determination and zeal for life that I have always admired. His red hair has been indicative of who he is since the day he was born: feisty, intense and hard to miss; but also soft, gorgeous and unique.

Happy birthday to the family glue, the peacemaker and the kid who reminds me daily why I love being a mother. Happy birthday, D2

16 years ago today, I married my favorite person. We've really gotta get new pictures taken, but I am thankful for this dude holding my hand as we roll through this insane and freaking awesome life we've created. Happy anniversary, my love!

Tell me why I decided to freaking torture myself today and look at Finns TK pictures from his first day of school. He starts high school on Wednesday with Freshman orientation tomorrow, and I am playing it off like its going to be totally OK for Finns sake. In my head (and heart) I am terrified. Beyond anxious.

I know so many of my friends have new (and returning) high schoolers this year as well, and many of them are going to RBUHS. I know all of you have raised such kind and loving kiddos, and I am thankful for that. I still feel so nervous; I can only hope that my 6'1" 14 year old with a huge heart and the social awkwardness that knows little bounds makes friends and no enemies, learns how and when to make jokes and feels comfortable to learn new skills while continuing to be who he is at his core.

I'm gonna be a mess tomorrow and Wednesday so if you see me, you can either hug me or feel free to walk the other way. My gigantic self may just hug you without your permission and make a mess of tears and snot on the top of your head (chances are my head/face will be there and not on your shoulder.)

First day of third grade for Silas and seventh grade for Dietrich! Finn is enjoying a few more days of peace and quiet before high school starts for him!

I was talking to someone recently about the "unnoticed" careers. The jobs that sustain a family, do the difficult jobs no one else wants to do, and show a quiet "behind the scenes" strength that very few notice and even less can handle themselves.

This is what Luke does, day in and day out. It allowed me to be a stay at home mom in a home he bought when we were first married. It has given me the opportunity to be there for our children whenever they need me. What he does has allowed Dietrich to play baseball year round, Finn to get all the art supplies his heart desires and Silas to pursue all of the things his wild brain can conjure. And now it's allowed me to finish my education, write the novels I've been dreaming about and pursue my own interests.

He sent me this picture today. And I don't think people realize what millions of these "behind the scenes" people endure 5-6 days a week. He doesn’t complain; he does it for his family. As do all of those people working the jobs others don't/can't do. Appreciate those people, please. I know I do.
