Today is a big day for the Mitchell household. After 22+ years working in a backbreaking, physically and mentally demanding career, Luke has been promoted to the Service Manager of the company he works for. He will be out of the field, and I cannot express how long I have wanted this day for him.

When Luke was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2017, a weird, uncomfortable and annoying knot built up in my lower gut. It has sat there quietly, as I haven't told anyone about it. A balled up reminder that every day Luke is on a roof, or balancing on a 2x4 in a 160 degree attic, he could have a seizure and just like that. He would be gone. My best friend, life partner and the father of my children. I can't do life without him, and Epilepsy has attempted to take him from me before.

Last night, I felt that knot loosen. It's still there, but it has released some of that awkward tension and I feel slightly lighter. It seems selfish, but I am elated that he will be in an office being the best manager in a field he has worked his butt off to be on the top. He deserves this, more than anyone I know.

Please congratulate Luke. He won't show it, but he will be appreciative. And I am thankful someone is finally recognizing the incredible mind and intelligence of the man I can't do life without. No one deserves it more.

I am 40 today! Last night, my friends and family threw me an incredible get together for my birthday and college graduation at my favorite local restaurant. I could not be more thankful for the friends and family that were able to come. I felt truly special and grateful.

I have very lofty goals for 2026, and a couple that seem insurmountable. But I have been the near impossible for a lot of my adult life. I know my goals for 40 will happen.

Thank you again, to everyone who supports me, my boys and our family. I can't do anything without you all, and especially my Heavenly Father.

Last day of college, my undergrad specifically. Ending it with a 4.0 for the semester. I worked my butt off, for sure. But I had SO much help along the way. I couldn't have done it without so many people, doing big and small things along the way.
Luke Mitchell has always been the hardest working person I know. He worked so I could be home with the boys when they were young, and then worked to take care of the family financially while I pursued my dreams. Never complaining, no resentment. Just consistently cheering me on, loving me and doing small things at home when I was overwhelmed. I thank God every day that He gave me this life partner; after 16 years, I love him more than I did the day before.
My parents Paul Stuevens and Jacki have lived with us off and on for the last three years, helping with the boys schedules, cleaning the house when I was gone all day, fixed things around the house when Luke was working endless hours. Just doing whatever they saw my family needed done. The boys got the huge blessing having their grandparents here daily, listening to their challenges, imparting wisdom and loving on them. Best grandparents/parents ever.
Endless friends and family that have cheered me on, picked up slack when I was rushed, assisted with my boys, offered words of love and encouragement... I cant do life without you all. My sisters Lydia Stuevens Robinson, Kristina Stuevens-West and Brooke Keffer. Shea Marshall, Erin Smith, Jenna Rankin, Jandee Smart, Jasmine Pallanes, Dietrichs coaches, our Crush family, my neighbor Mike, all of you. You're amazing and you deserve to know how thankful I am for all of you.
Now to enjoy the holiday with my four favorite men, then job hunting and my masters degree! Onward and upward!

Due to some very unfortunate recent events in my life, I'm temporarily (and maybe permanently) deactivating my social media accounts. I love all of you so much, so I hope everyone who has my phone number will stay in contact with me.

Hopefully, I will be back! On a different note, pray for our country. This disgusting hatred and lack of civil discourse for simply having a different opinion does not represent the country I love so much. Pray for the Kirk family, and may Charlie rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

My middle is a teenager today. I'm so proud of this kid; he has a grit, determination and zeal for life that I have always admired. His red hair has been indicative of who he is since the day he was born: feisty, intense and hard to miss; but also soft, gorgeous and unique.

Happy birthday to the family glue, the peacemaker and the kid who reminds me daily why I love being a mother. Happy birthday, D2

16 years ago today, I married my favorite person. We've really gotta get new pictures taken, but I am thankful for this dude holding my hand as we roll through this insane and freaking awesome life we've created. Happy anniversary, my love!
