Could you ever imagine after having a shoulder surgery to fix a labrum and rotator cuff tear that you’d end up with a totally extra hand problem?

It’s actually more common than you think.

Since the nerve bundle coming from the cervical spine that innervates the rest of your arm and hand passes through your axilla or armpit area, having a shoulder surgery would surely irritate how your nerves are going to be talking to your hand.

It’s been a year later and this gymnast’s hand is still twitching uncontrollably. 😭

First session: assess the shoulder ✅, address the shoulder ✅, figure out how the nerve wants to be dragged ✅.

Build from there.

If you think after a finger injury things aren’t going so well, take a look at your unaffected hand and see if yep, you were right… the finger’s still swollen, not bending or straightening right, maybe a different color!

That’s true in sport and in healing.

This season all that was especially true. Coming out of having a second 👶🏻, growing my practice, and all the in betweens, progress was anything but ideal! But we made it here. Now we trust and have fun.
