I am 39 weeks pregnant 🤰🏼
I am waddling around like a penguin looking for a rock 🐧🪨

Mentally?
Doing anything other than laying in bed feels like the biggest ask in the world.

Rest is important.
But I’ve been a little too lethargic lately - and I could feel it starting to impact my mental health.

Thankfully, I have a partner who noticed the shift before I did and lovingly dragged me outside.

Before self-help books and coping skills lists, we had:

✨walking✨
❄️cold air
🚶‍♀️moving forward

When you walk:
• your brain engages in bilateral stimulation (hi EMDR 👀)
• cortisol decreases
• dopamine + serotonin increase
• your nervous system shifts out of threat mode
• rumination quiets

No breakthrough.
No deep processing.

Just boots in snow. Breath in lungs.
Letting my brain stop focusing on discomfort for 30 minutes and reconnect with something bigger.

I did not want to go.
The first 10 minutes? Hated it.

But my body and mind feel noticeably better for pushing through.

Sometimes mental health isn’t glamorous.
Sometimes it’s just putting your shoes on.

It is truly an honor to hold space for each person who trusts me with their healing journey. Creating an environment where you feel safe, grounded, and genuinely supported is always at the center of everything I do.

Reiki is more than relaxation- it’s connection, regulation, and meeting your nervous system with compassion exactly where it is. I carry deep gratitude for the beautiful souls who allow me to witness their growth, their softness, and their courage to receive.

This month’s Soul Sanctuary was pure magic ✨
From a group meditation and a heart-opening cacao ceremony to collective mandala creation and a deeply grounding sound bath-every moment was infused with intention and love.

The community, laughter, connection, and shared presence this series continues to cultivate truly fills my cup with the warmest kind of joy.

Regulating your nervous system doesn’t always have to look like box breathing, tapping (EFT), or humming into the vagus nerve. It can be playful, personal, and beautifully unstructured. The goal is simple: discover rituals and practices that help you feel safe, present, and in tune with your body. Here are three unhinged ways I ground myself weekly- or even daily!

1. Talking to the trees 🌳

Observing nature’s rhythmic movement while speaking my thoughts aloud helps my nervous system downshift and my body release stored stress. Inspired by Celtic traditions that revered trees as sacred teachers and guardians, this ritual connects me to my Irish roots, providing clarity and allowing the universe to handle karmic restitution- so I can focus on healing and growth.

2. Stirring daily intentions into my tea or coffee ☕️

When mornings feel heavy or a big moment awaits, I stir intention- and a little Reiki energy- into my coffee or tea (stirring clockwise to bring in or invite specific energy, counterclockwise to release or let go). The rhythmic motion creates a gentle pattern that helps my nervous system soften, my mind focus, and supports processing overwhelm or trauma, reminding me that I’m held and ready before the day even begins.

3. Admiring my home like it’s a museum✨

Moving through my home with soft attention and gratitude helps my nervous system notice safety and settle. Seeing my space with fresh eyes- like a museum- grounds me in the present, supports clarity, and reminds me that I am in control of my environment. This simple practice helps the body and mind regulate after stress or overwhelm. Of course, admiring my fur babies adds a little extra comfort along the way (let’s be real, they’re the true nervous system counselors here😉).

Carl Jung wrote that meaningful social change begins when we withdraw our shadow projections- the parts of ourselves we disown or judge as unacceptable- from others. This does not mean denying injustice or excusing harm.

It means refusing to dehumanize, even while holding systems and individuals accountable.

From a psychological lens, projection may offer short-term relief by discharging rage and fear outward, but over time it dysregulates the nervous system and erodes empathy. When left unintegrated, these emotions fuel polarization, moral injury, and cycles of violence. The work is to remain embodied, value-aligned, and human- especially when others are not.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve held space for clients processing grief, fear, anger, and anxiety as our nation confronts moral injustice, political violence, murder, and systemic harm brought down on targeted communities. This is a tremendous amount for our nervous systems to hold- especially with the constant surge of chaos through our feeds. Pausing to regulate yourself, looking inward, and standing firm in what is right and fair helps you become a safe space someone may desperately need.

May we stay grounded in our bodies, clear in our values, and fully human as we witness injustice, advocate for accountability, and work toward a world where dignity and justice are not optional.

Sometimes it shows up as tension.
Sometimes as numbness.
Sometimes as emotions we can’t quite explain.

Reiki doesn’t force release.
It supports safety- and when the body feels safe, healing unfolds naturally.
